help me plz..nclex-rn test on oct 29,2010..too depressed.....
Yes, it is true--we all got to have something in ourselves to keep us going no matter how negative and unexpected surrounds us. Eversince i had failed twice in this NCLEX-RN exam - i felt like nobody anymore...my husband do not see me as if his work and tv are more important -seems as if failing makes me a real failure not only in the exam but in my whole being as well and do not appreciate when I prepare foods for him or is not even happy to see me. That makes me feel so low as well. He is a licensed RN now , failed once and passed the second time. He thinks failing lots of times is too much. Help me please...what do I need to study to pass this exam? Please share with me how can I pass this soon...

failed nclex twice..losing all my confidence
Hi teareyed0001 and everyone, I guess my predicament is pretty much like tearyeyed001...when I failed NCLEX_RN the second time -Before I tried to find out about the result my husband said he will give me a party if I pass and if not he told me to hug him. Then we went to the computer, paid quickresults online-told me to close my eyes before clicking--and then that bad FAIL showed up... and that's a day after my exam NOv. 2, 2010. He left the room and gave me space to be emotional...but later on told me that I had not been so serious with my review---told him I'm not yet comforted and that noone ever ever wants to fail. NCLEX_RN exam is heartbreaking esp for me who had never failed an exam in my life--and now it is twice the record now...my faith keeps me strong and the fighting spirit is great..this will not keep me down...I will review more--and hope God can assess me well if I studied or not--hoping for a PASS result next time. I wiill hold my head on the right level and keep on reading...until I see the word PASS!!!

Second COursers make good RNs, what do you think?
Hi! I'm a Nurse in Ph and it is my second degree. Based on what I have seen and observed with others who took Nursing as a second degree...these people got a lot of heart and compassion as most of them had aged well..not so old but more mature individuals who knows how to give a lot to their patients. When we had undergone all our hospital duties and hands on patient care experiences...you will really love nursing especially in the Philippines - Manila and other provinces there. These are patients who are in most need and no human being will not be moved to show compassion and their best caring selves when exposed to such situations and cases. So it's not a matter of who's best- the first ones who took Nursing as first course OR the second coursers ( as how they call them). Imagine all the hardship these not so young set had taken to graduate and finish Nursing :) - wearing the all white school uniform when their waistline are not as small as the petite ones anymore, wearing black and white uniform shoes, community uniforms, defended the thesis and lots lots of individual and group projects; rode the Phil. jeepneys of Manila and had taken the risk for their lives to finish all shift duties esp. at night. I agree with RN062006 - dedication counts! I respect all people, every person for their aspirations and life endeavors without discrimination when they decided to go for it. God knows who these people are.

I've now failed NCLEX-RN twice....
Hi! I'm new here..so glad having found a forum like this...as I am so so depressed right now...I just learned that I failed my NCLEX-RN exam and this is my second time...sigh...cry my heart out...I guess I don't enjoy CAT testing. By the way, I am a foreign graduate . Honestly, this CAT testing makes me lose my esteem...I'd prefer the long long paper exam as there will be more chance to gauge our capabilities and intelligence and it is more standardized and the same for everyone..in length, content and difficulty and then scored . Maybe I am on the older side now that is why.. - but I told myself never to give up and try until I succeed...I hope the third time will be the last time . Please God be with us. Wish I am younger to have more time to endure these struggles ( I am now in the stage of Generativity VS Stagnation..LOL) and hoping in God's guiding light I may pass and get my license soon so that I may age and grow old happy with success. God knows I was a real good student and had passed all my previous licensures (my previous degree/profession; and Nursing license in my country) at first take . But gee, this NCLEX-RN exam is the only one that had given me so much depression and questions? My husband ignores me now as if I'm invisible and our relationship and family suffers a lot from my failure ( he is a licensed RN for 6 years now)...but I did finished reading my review books Kaplan Qbanks online, La Charity - now I lost some confidence of myself. I took my first attempt last March 2010 stopped at 75 (I accepted this as I was forced to take at once though not ready yet);and then again this Nov.2010 stopped at 203 questions (I felt bad about this as I studied well esp the La Charity book - guess I run our of time and consumed all 6 hours) (both bad results though all subject areas are NEARLY PASSING). How I wish there are just books they would tell us to really study about - so we could master it and PASS the CAT testing of the NCLEX-RN exam. For me time is precious and gold- especially that I am not that young anymore. Just like anybody else, I am praying for God's guidance and glory and telling myself to stay strong -never give up and just do the best in reviewing with all my HEART all the study materials I can ever lay my hands on. I told my child that Mom's never gonna give up for him cause I love him too much--just askin' for his prayers though. I'm planning to take the exam in 90 days again for the third time and GOD please...with hard work on my part..please guide me.
