Goals while working with a preceptor
I just wanted to give an update.....I am precepting in the ICU and I am having an amazing time. My preceptor is very knowledgeable and he takes the time to TEACH ME!!!! He allows me to see a large variety of things that I haven't seen before. He asked me my first day what was my weakest subject (The Heart (EKGs, ACLS,etc.) and he has allowed me to rotate through the telemetry unit, attend a class that they offer at their facility, etc. I have never worked with vents before and he has made me feel so comfortable with them. He is a very, very, very intelligent nurse and I truly thank God for allowing me to meet him.

Goals while working with a preceptor
Hello everyone, I am in my last semester of RN school and we will precept this semester. We have to come up with 10 learning objectives that I am definitely having trouble putting down on paper. I will be on a Med-Surg floor for (7) 12 hour shifts. This will be my last time as a student and I want to learn all that I can. IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS I AM OPEN TO EVERYTHING!!!!!! No wonder we are getting nursing students who are only in it for $
i am currently finishing nursing school and i love the clinical setting over the classroom because i am a hands on person. I comprehend some of the work but i actually learn better on hand.... but what ****** me off is the fact that some classmates of mine memorize things for the test but have no idea whats going on in clinicals..... So i asked the question do you enjoy clinicals and some of the replies were i just hate the fact that i have to deal with these sick people and possibly take their problems or illnesses home to my family..... I FIGURED THEN PAYCHECK OVER WEIGHS CARING
