Hi everyone, I'm taking my exam this Friday and of course I'm nervous. I wanted to know for the skills portion of the exam, what should I expect? When asked to perform a skill will the supplies be available in the room? Will the time to gather my supplies be part of my skill? Any advice or words of encouragement? I'm super nervous and excited and I really want to pass.

I work in HR and just completed the CNA traning and am awaiting for my exam date. Once an offered is made to you and you accept the offer at that time would be approriate to indicate the time off you have already scheduled. Most employers have PTO time that you can start using once you start employment. If they don't offer PTO time immediately, most employers do not penalize employees who need the time.

Hi Im actually a CNA student here in NY and we are also required to obtain a license and once we start working we should obtain insurance as well. How are your classes going? Im ready to start my clinicals and am super excited.

How was the board exam? I am nervous about the skills portion.

Thank you for your responses. In NY Vitals and hand washing are not considered skills...its mandatory that we perform them...hand washing must be done with each skill. I just need to practice and time myself...We need to take a volunteer so i'm going to take my husband, i've been practicing with him. Thanks again.

I am super nervous about taking the skills part of the exam. I read that now you have to perform three skill in 1/2 hour down from 5 skills in two hours. What should I expect and what advice or encouragement can you give me?

hi everyone, i am new to this forum and and currently a cna student in nyc. i have a question. in nys, you need to have your ekg & phlebotomy certification in order to work in a hospital. does that apply to every state?
