  1. I've been checking my email and didn't get anything . By this time, I'm thinking I won't be joining the fall 18 class.
  2. Silence from my end too 😔 just two more days..
  3. I received my letter via email on the 21st. I hope we hear something back tomorrow if lucky!!
  4. I know right?! I'm in the same boat as you and was notified of my alternate status on 7/21/18. I haven't received or heard anything back since. We have about one more week left though!! Hold on to hope!
  5. Awww congrats!!! I hope I get that lucky email soon too and those that are still waiting to hear back! Thanks for letting us know!
  6. Awww I feel you and in the same boat. I'm checking everyday as well to see if I'll get that lucky letter. Good luck to you!
  7. Hello! Mine is also 8/17. Im hoping we will hear back sooner rather than later with some sort of update in our status since most students have to submit their intent by today I think. I'm thinking hopefully by next week they will have a better idea of how many spots will have opened up. That might be wishful thinking since they have been so slow with notifying students. For most programs, they tend to accept the same amount of alternates as accepted students... So I'm thinking if they accepted say 35 students, 35 would also be chosen as alternates. It's just tough waiting some more and not knowing where we stand or fall on their wait list. Sending good vibes to everyone who is an alternate or waiting to hear back!! QUOTE=Bosoxgirl3358;9901571]TO ALL ALTERNATES: What is the end date of your alternate status? I'm not sure if they give out different dates, so it may be interesting to compare dates. Mine in August 17.
  8. Awww I know they mentioned if you don't hear by the 23rd to give them a call. I would def call and see if they can give you a status update. Good luck to you! I've been chosen as an alternate.
  9. Hi!! I'm now in the same boat as you were, but for the Fall 18 cohort. As an alternate did you end up getting into the program for that semester? do you know what number you were on the Alternate list?
  10. Hi!! I'm now in the same boat as you were, but for the Fall 18 cohort. As an alternate did you end up getting into the program for that semester? do you know what number you were on the Alternate list?
  11. Hi!! just got my email saying I was selected as an alternate! Did you have to send your intent within 24 hours as well? Hehe now I'm trying to see what number I might be!
  12. I just got chosen as an alternate as well. I wonder if they have a number system for alternates. They emailed me through my Gmail.
  13. Do you happen to know if the email included anything about orientation dates? Congrats again!
  14. Does it mention when the orientation date is going to be for the new incoming fall class? I'm anxiously checking my email too!
  15. Congrats!!!! I'm so happy for you! I hope more of us will continue to get an email!!! ☺️☺️ what a great way to start your day! Thanks for letting us know!
  16. I did call this morning too and the woman I spoke to said that they will start notifying students any day now and for the next few weeks. She was a little vague and said if we don't hear back via email by the 23rd then to give them a call í ½í¹ I guess it may be more of a waiting game....
  17. Thanks so much Aly for calling and giving us all an update! Fingers crossed we get some news/ update tomorrow. I'll def post if I receive anything!
  18. I know July 9 is the 10 week mark, but I'm thinking it will probably be by July 20. I'll def post if I hear any news!
  19. Hi guys! I totally understand the anxiety. I didn't get my letter yet either and gave the nursing dept a call. Carolyn assisted me and was able to tell me what my application status was. Unfortunately I was eligible, but wasn't selected. You can give them a call at (562) 908-3421. Best of luck to everyone else and congrats to those who were provisionally accepted!
  20. Yay! I hope its some good news! I'll be checking my mail closely this week too.
  21. I'm not sure if they are still going to use this for our current application cycle or if they are changing it.
  22. So during the last application cycle, they had a link to a document that was their "RN Program Enrollment Criteria that outlined the pts. It looks like that document isn't posted anymore or the ADN Admission supporting documentation form. Here's my best attempt at breaking their point system down: Section 1- Education; 15 Max Pts 10 pts-B/S or B/A or higher 5 pts- AA/AS degree 5pts- LVN degree, Paramedic, tech, resp therapist, or military medic Section 2- Nursing Pre-req + college G.P.A; 50 pts Max Pre-reqs (Anatomy, Physio, Microbiology and English + MATH 131, 141 or 150 higher 4.0 GPA- 25 pts 3.5-3.9- 20 pts 3.0-3.4-15 pts 2.5-2.9-0 pts All other college courses 4.0 GPA- 25 pts 3.5-3.9- 20 pts 3.0-3.4-15 pts 2.5-2.9-0 pts Section 3, Life experiences; 3 pts Max (Require supplemental documentation) Disability 3 pts Low Family income 3 pts First generation to attend college 3 pts Need to work 3 pts Disadvantaged social or educational enviorn 3pts Difficult personal family situation 3pts Refugee or Veteran Status 3pts Section 4- Additional Language; 2 pts Max Proficiency in another language, 2 pts Section 5- TEAS Score; 30 Max 90 to 100- 30 pts 85-89.99- 25 pts 80-84.99-20 pts 74-79.99-15 pts 70-73.99-10 pts 62-69.99-5 pts BS/BA degree- 30 pts
  23. Hi Steph! I'm a Steph too! That's great. I plan to visit the campus next Friday and submit my application in person as well. I'm hoping to meet w/ a counselor just to make sure I have everything in order. I have a previous degree and Pasadena is the most generous in terms of awarding points for a previous degree. I'm really hoping that will help. With all my points, I calculated 87.. I'm wishing you and everyone else the best of luck! From previous threads, it looks like they let us know around June or so, but this time around I think the deadline is later than previously....
  24. Thanks so much for the info! I hope we hear any day now or by next week for sure. Crossing my fingers for everyone! How did you find out about the 4/27 orientation? I couldn't find info anywhere on the nursing page about the prospected date and time for orientation! But it seems like classes would start 6/4/18. Definitely the earliest for most!
  25. I also just called to ask about my application status and they said they will continue to send out letters these next few weeks! I'm hoping to hear some good news soon too! Good luck to everyone!
