  1. yea i was thinking the same thing.. m kinda in a career dead-end.. i was thinking whats better? a PT in the gym sports setting or a Nurse in a hospital... of-course they have their own pros/cons on the situation... i just dont know where i want to go... maybe someone can help me out on that...
  2. extend? you can file for extention of your RN license even without your SSN? i just want to get it clear.. but thanks for the info, so far its helping me clarify alot of things :)
  3. so it goes like this, Im an NCLEX passer for the BON in California: I need an SSN to get my RN license.. and If i cant show an SSN within 3 years,... I have to take the NCLEX exam again for Cali?
  4. I have a question, Theoretically, you pass the NCLEX exam then you have to supply your SSN to obtain your RN license for you to practice. It says in the letter, the letter that we recieve, "your file will be destroyed if an SSN, is not shown" An RN license is valid for 3 years. My question is, What if I cant provide an SSN with that span of 3 years to obtain my RN license, do i retake the NCLEX exam? Thanks to ALLNURSES.com
  5. 1.) it took me 75 questions, 2.) I used Saunders Comprehensive Review, Saunders Q&A Cd, accompanied with Suzanne's Plan 3.)Nope 4.)I got the result around 1 month and a week after i took the exam. (California BON) 5.)I thought i was confident about it, i was studying for 4 months. 6.)Yes it was my first time. but still, things doesnt workout.. i guess the world is round indeed. Sometimes you're up there, sometimes ur just the one on the bottom.. :)
  6. i failed too, i took the exam dec 7,2008.. was planing to retake the exam.. i jus wanna get it clear cuz my pearsonvue account got deactivated.. i was jus wondering if i got the following steps correct for re-application for the ATT.. 1.)pay $75 for the re-application fee 2.)pay $200 for the exam.. additional $150 if outside of the US 3.)call the customer service to activate the account 4.)submit re-application form.. (should i send the nursing verification program too?) 5.)then wait.. for the ATT.. right? i jus wanna get it clear.. thats like around over $400 for the exam..
  7. so its been a long time since i got my results, i took the exam at around dec 7, i got it on january 11.. i was short... so i guess i'll take the exam again.. its all good.. i was pretty nervous with everything.. but yea theres a reason for everything.. CONGRATS TO ALL WHO PASSED WITH THE DECEMBER SUPPORT GROUP!!!
  8. this side is indeed very useful, from nclex help to life being a nurse, to just everylife.. this site is very useful and deals with the everyday life of being a nurse.. its just wonderful.. keeps people sane and back to earth.. cuz we know theres a support group that can help us thru our trying times.. if it wern't for this site, i would think that i'm the only person in this world goin through hard times as a future nurse.. thanks allnurses.com. :) i hope we get our licenses soon..:) kudos to everyone and happy new year!
  9. thanks:) you answered a whole lot of confusion in my head :)
  10. is it accurate to find out the results of the NCLEX thru the website? i mean, i just took the exam last dec 7, 2007.. m from the philippines..and I applied to Cali.. or should the 4-6 week wait period should be followed for the results to arrive?
  11. well u got a point there.. but its more of priority, if u really want placement verification, i think an x-ray is needed, especially if you are dealing with the safety of the client. although knowing that the PH of the aspirated residual volume comes from the GI, nothing beats an objective cue like an x-ray placement. besides, what if you get wrong with determining if the PH is from the lungs, you'll be compromising the health care rendered to the client.. but both answers are correct. but if given a choice, i'd go with a xray first. if its not in the choices, then id go with the aspirated residual volume to know for placement.
  12. well i guess we just have to wait for the official results in our mail..
  13. yea keep your head up IMHOPEFUL, u got to.. its not the end of the world yet... plus i dont think its entirely accurate too. one, because i feel like its a new system. two, because they need time to put all the registered nurses there. three, theres all of those listed passed registered nurses from years back. four, just wait for the results. five, california isn't part of quick results, so why pressure you on that? just wait for 2-3 weeks.. say, end of december.., its been 5 days since your exam.
  14. i dont think the results on the site is entirely accurate,.. imhopeful took the exam on DEC8, i took the exam DEC7, so results dont go as fast for California.. california results should be out in 2-3 weeks time.. plus i just typed the name of my friend who just passed the exam months ago, her name wasn't there.. i think its a new system.. just wait for the official results.. i'd like to think that way. cuz me and 3 other friends' names arent there.. and we studied for 4 months prior to the exam.. keep the faith, be hopeful
  15. where do u check that? 'cause, i just took the exam last dec 7th..
  16. this is good news!! atleast CA is trying to provide the best care to the californians.. being licensed in the philippines means you are competent enough and may possess the mental fortitude of being licensed in the US. its a small price to pay to be a US RN.
  17. wat i did was make a list of the usual drugs used for the diseases then post on a wall so that everytime i look at that wall i can be reminded of it.. example, Synthroid = hypothyroidism, etc.. then group it into Cardiac Meds, GI Meds, Endocrine Meds.. i used it that way, it worked for me... its all about how u remember things by.. good luck!
  18. just try to get enough sleep,.. so that your brain wont be on sleep mode during the exam... thats what i would do.. you've been studying for so long already, the brain is like a muscle it needs rest to be on full potential to grow.. just breathe..
  19. the test is made to study on your own and know your strengths and weaknesses... its basically self study but with an organized way of doing it.. so that you can be guided accordingly.. its not a fail-proof way of studying... but is something worth trying.. cuz the success rate is high.. basic point of the whole thing, study your thing.. know and understand it... if you dont get it, then get back at it.. til you get on to the next..
  20. thats true.. it is very hard to predict.. i read that once the computer shuts down, it is 95% certain of your exam result either you pass the exam or not.. so its still a 50/50 thing.. i talked to my friend who took the exam a few weeks back, he said that he got 75 questions too, then it shut down.. but he DIDNT pass.. so i guess its just a matter of waiting for the results.. lets not get ahead of ourselves.. atleast when the results come we got peace of mind.. :)
  21. u know its interesting how it is.. the disease process (nephrotic syndrome) says, a loss of protein in the blood is excreted in the urine.. thus presenting proteinuria... however, based on Saunders Comprehensive review, it states that a Normal to low-protein diet... (WHICH I SAY I STAND CORRECTED) but the thing is, there's a loss of protein in the system already and a potential for more loss.. my point though is... shouldnt it follow that since ur losing protein in your body, that a INCREASE CHON diet should be prescribed? but still i stand corrected, in my fault on that, i just checked Saunders. thanks for clearing that up :)
  22. protein should be increased cuz protein is excreted in nephrotic syndrome.. so u should increase chon and cho in the diet.. as for the other things, i think it would help if u consult ur books :) congrats for everyone who passed so far!!! i hope i join the group!
  23. i was just wondering what other requirements are needed to obtain a SSN? aside from the NCLEX results of course.. thanks!!!
  24. congratulations!!!! hope i get to join the club someday
  25. hahaha thanks though!
