looking for info about Woman's hospital in BR
Hey all, I'm an army wife whose husband is currently stationed in Texas. We're originally from the Baton Rouge area and when he gets out (in about 2 1/2 years) we'll be moving back. I'm in an ASN program right now and I'll be finished before we move back. My dream is to work at Womans. I love the hospital, plus myself and my two children were all born there. These are my questions: 1. Is Womans on some type of hiring freeze? I hear the city is "saturated with RN's". Is this true? 2. I will have an associates degree because the military is paying for it. They will not pay for a BSN. Does Womans hire RNs with just an associates? I am planning on getting my BSN but I'll need to work while doing so. 3. This isn't really a question but if anyone that works there or has worked there could give me some insight it would be greatly appreciated. Like I said...my dream job!

Thanks! And you as well. I registered and got my classes. Now it's just books and supplies and I'm ready! :)

Central Texas College
Yeah I think I've got my scheduled figured out for the most part. I'm going to try and register at midnight on the 28th to make sure I get my first choice of classes! I have two kids so I really need the schedule that will work best for the three of us :)

Central Texas College
No, I'm taking A&P I, English Comp I, Intro to Nursing, and a dev math course . It's been at least 5 years since I've been in school and math is definitely NOT my stongest subject. But I decided to take the class because I eventually want to get my BSN and I'll need some foundation skills in algebra.

I'm starting my pre-reqs Spring 2011. I'm going for the RN program as well. I'll be taking A&P this spring.

Where's the math?
How long did you give yourself to prepare? I don't have to actually register for another 3-4 weeks. What amount of time would you recommend taking to study?

Where's the math?
That's helpful, thank you both. I am worried now that my math skills won't be good enough for the THEA. I've been out of school for a while and whatever I did absorb from high school has probably long since been forgotten. I suppose there are study guides for the test. At least I hope there are!

Where's the math?
Hey everyone, I'm applying now to start my pre-req's at Central Texas College. I noticed in their course list that there is no math required. Is this normal? I'm not very proficient in math and it seems like it's a necessary skill to get into the actual program itself. This is a two year program for ADN. Does anyone have any insight?
