Yes anything is possible. First you have to get rid of the cancer. Or it will eat your facility alive. It takes time. If you and the administ. Are on the same page that is a good start. Make sure you include all the rn's and weekend rn and adon's in your mission to make the facility better!! Any rn's at night?? Include them too...

Good luck on your new position. Advice? Look at your last survey and get ready for the next one. How good is the staff? Need lots of training. I use to put out a notebook for memo's. Alot of days , so many things happen it's hard to communicate...the book seemed to help.

If you find one with a great don, things will go better !!! I have left many places because the don was...how should i say this..crazy. Sad but true. Keep searching.

In a nursing home, it's best not to interrupt while staff are working on the floor. I'm amazed at how little the instructors leave them alone...and don't know the basic operation of a nursing home. When you have 10 students coming down the hall...where's the bathroom...can that res. Drink water...do you know where the rm.100 is...one nurse taking care of 30 residents..and a flock of students...watch out !!
