Has anyone been in trouble at work over what they posted in allnurses.com
On any post right click and view source. Lots of information there, didn't go though it but it might have someone ip address? if it does then it tells the user alot about the poster, state, city, ect. It's really hard to have internet privacy now of days. Posting also leaves a written copy of your post. About a year ago, a rather large company was suing a online poster for what I want to call "slander posting" the company was suing for a rather large amount of funds claiming the posts had a negative consumer response resulting in lost sales, and you guessed it, they were seeking the loses from the poster. It was a first at the time and I was really curious about it, and the possible implications it would have on the bulletin boards communities. I'm assuming that it is still in courts. I also just read yesterday about DICE arresting people for streaming TV online. What I found interesting about this was the person who facing 5-10 years in jail and $100,000's in fines just for having a website that had links to other sites with the TV streams. What does this mean if I post a link to youtube? and it sounds like this is currently legal defense strategy. I guess what I'm saying is the internet can be a pretty scary place.

Insurance
I think it's worth the piece of mind. Do you know the limitation of your hospitals insurance? what limits does it have? if more then one nurse is targeted, is the coverage per nurse or for the group? If the amount is exceeded who pays? I think what I'm trying to say you can never have to much protection for you or your family. I have insurance and $1,000,000.00 property insurance in top of that. I have also been called into a law office for a deposition. I can tell you it was a very nerves time, until I realized the initials were not mine on the record in question but someone else with the same. The patients family was suing due to a 5 out of 10 pain score after pain meds were given. I never followed up to see how the suit turned out for my coworker or the hospital, but can tell you I think the added insurance is certainly worth the piece of mind, and it's very affordable.

What do you think about this job offering here in TX?
Sounds like a feeler, meaning it's a trial. It allows for both parties to part ways if it's not a good fit. I would find out how long the contract is for? 90 days, 120, ect and clearify what they need from you, to become a "hire", this will also allow for you to address your concerns as well.

Plan on moving to Texas [DFW area]
Florida is a non-compact state, if your from a non-compact state and plan on working in Texas you can take your boards in Texas without currently being a resident and list under your application that Texas will be your primary state for working and receive a Texas compact state license. If you have a compact state license you can use your license in other compact states as well without needing that state BON license. You should do a quick search regarding RN compact states if want more information on this.
