Thinking about getting a job with PSA healthcare in Connecticut
I am an LPN, I currently work in a nursing home in Agawam in a sub-acute rehab unit. I have been an LPN for two and half years. For many reasons, I have been looking for a new job. I would like to get off third shift, go back to school, and I am having problems with management being unprofessional and bullying staff. Many other employees have left, so I have decided to try something new. I have always wanted to work with kids, and I had an open interview with PSA healthcare a month and a half ago. I finally got all of my paperwork submitted (license, diploma, etc.), and I just have to take a hands on CPR class (I took an online CPR class this year per my employer). Within the next two weeks I should have that done, and I will be starting my orientation with PSA. Does anyone have experience with PSA healthcare in Connecticut? I have read many reveiws of the company and some were great and some were terrible, however, none of these were reveiwing the offices in Connecticut. I am really interested in home health care and I want to give it a shot, but I want to make sure I am picking a good company to work for. Any information would be very helpful!

That's too bad your so far away! It took me 15 months to find a job so don't get discouraged! Something good will come along I have been seeing a lot more job offerings for new grads in CT as well too.

@Jenncharbs: I work in Agawam at Heritage Hall. There are 4 buildings here some with 12 hour shifts, some with 8 hour shifts. They are always hiring! Come to any building or fill out an application at all of them I pretty much got hired on the spot. They take new grads as well, I just hit my one year mark. Hope this helps!

Questions about the private CT LPN programs...
I went to Porter and Chester in Enfield and I was in the first graduating class of April 2010. The program has grown quite a bit since then and I believe they have a 9 or 10 month option or a 15 month option (which is what I did). I would recommend the 15 month program only because the program is very intense and you need that extra day off every week (the program is Monday through Thursday). I thought it was a great program with good instructors and great clinical sites. Our started with 20 and graduated with 12 students. The student loans are killing me now but it's worth it!

New grad LPN looking for job, does anyone know anywhere in CT hiring new grad LPNs?
I am a new grad LPN, I passed the NCLEX in June and still have not found a job. I cannot tell you how many jobs I have applied to, and have gotten no replies whatsoever. It is very frustrating seeing as I paid 36,000 for my education and have not found a job since graduating in April 2010. Does anyone work in LTC, doctors office, school, detention center, rehab, substance abuse facility, or anywhere that is hiring LPNs and is willing to train them? I am also going on for my RN right now if that makes a difference. I am 21 years old, will work any shift, any days, and will travel anywhere in CT. I would greatly appreciate any replies or help! Thank you!

Can't find a job ANYWHERE
I am also a new grad LPN, I graduated in April and have not found anything! I have gone places, applied online, applied on facility websites, and nothing. It is very frustrating, but do not give up. I have been out of school for 8 months now and have now found anything, but eventually something will come along. Can you tell me a little bit about excelsior, i am thinking about doing it and do you have any pre-reqs done?
