When I joined the ARMY as an LPN, I went through basic training as an E4. Once to my permanent duty station, I did a hospital rotation to prove my skills and was then promoted to an E5. It only took about a month after basic training to get the SGT E5. They termed it the skills for stripes program. Down part of it all is that many disliked that I came in as a SGT pretty much and they had to work for 10 years of more to get theirs. Not my fault I did it the smart way! There was harassment big time and they made my life miserable! AIT? Why are you having to go to AIT? AIT is Advanced Individual Training and if you have an LPN License, then there is no reason for AIT! I saw mention that an LPN has to get their EMT? When did that come to be? I never had to do that nor attend AIT. I was a 91C-20 when I was enlisted

Well, many places will not accept the CPRPro certification. The ones that do are not educated on the fact that you still need to be tested for the skills part of it. I have done the CPRPro and had it declined by some companies and when I talked to a CPR instructor I was told they are not acceptable and the company you work for can get in trouble for you not being properly certified.

I'm not from Texas either but I am obtaining a Texas nursing license so I can work there through a travel agency. I took that exam and it wasn't that hard. I believe if a person has worked in the nursing profession for a while, then it's stuff they already know and shouldn't have any problems passing it. A lot of it was common sense questions too.

Yes, thank you...but what I'm wondering is, is the theory part of Excelsior transferrable to other colleges so that I could finish up the nursing program elsewhere. Not graduate from Excelsor but another college. I guess I gotta get over my fear of the CPNE and get it done. Have faith in myself and my abilities / skills, huh

I just enrolled in Excelsior College, and what I am wondering is...can I do the theory through Excelsior and the clinicals at a traditional college? Would they even transfer to a college? I'm very concerned about the CPNE and passing it since I have been working assisted living for quite a while now. ~Penny
