What states/cities need nurses?
Reno, NV hires new grads. I submitted 2 apps, got 5 face-to-face interviews, and got a job I actually wanted within a couple weeks. They give priority to new grads from the area, but it doesn't hurt to look there.

question
I am about to take NCLEX myself and I have a book of 4000 NCLEX style questions and the Kaplan book that teaches you how to read the questions. Both are great, but since it's your first semester you don't really need to be concerned with all that right now...

Life as a New Grad Sucks
They hire new grads in Reno, NV. Last spring one hospital hired ~95 new grads at one time, and the other hospitals in town hired some as well. This winter that same hospital is hiring ~50 more...They all give priority to students graduating from local schools, but they if they can't fill their spots with locals, they'll hire from out of state. It wouldn't hurt to send an application!

Need Help With Right Path To Nursing
The hospital where I work will not hire nurses that have their degrees from online programs. The problem is that they usually only require 2 days or less of clinical experience where a full-time classroom-led program requires around 1,000 hours in a hospital. Most people in my program had to quit their jobs to attend school, but it was well worth it in the end.
