  1. If you are actually moving to Ann Arbor, be prepared for the high cost of living. Taxes on houses are outrageous (my co worker pays $5000 a year in taxes on her house!) And apts. are high too. I have lived here for 5 years and have worked at U of M hosp for the whole 5 years. I like U of M. I have also been a patient at U of M and I had a great experience (surgery and gave birth) My dad recently had heart surgery there and he didn't want to leave. The nurses were great! There is plenty to do if you dont get a freaken ticket on your car every time you park
  2. I had my son at UofM 9 months ago and my nurses rocked. I remember Amy, and the nurse that moved me up to the 7th floor.. I can't remember her name, I wish I did she was great. tmitch - my son was born on August 20th!!!!
  3. Im a nursing student. I also currently work with patients with my job. Im also an ex smoker, so im last person on earth to judge a smoker. I do agree with the smell. We are taught as nurses to use proper hygene and bathe and use deo, but when one smokes, they do stink. Now that I dont smoke, I can smell smoke on a person a mile away, and I know I wouldn't want that person as a nurse or doctor or beautician for that matter in my personal space smelling like that when Im already sick/stressed. But hey, sometimes I wish I could go out and have a smoke, too bad my husband would be able to smell it on me and probably divorce me
  4. Hi. I just finished Semester 1. I start Semester 2 this coming fall. I love WAshtenaw. I went to Oakland CC back in 1994-1996 and I didn't do so well (well, I was young and wanted to party m ore than study ) Ive been at WCC since 2000 and the instructors are 100xs better than OCC! I have a friend who has been getting the run around at OCC in regards to the nursing program for 2 years now! Washtenaw CC expanded their NUR program and they changed their admission criteria. Here is the link for WCC website, in case anyone needs it. http://www.washtenaw.cc.mi.us/
