  1. Rejected Guess it's off to Binghamton...good luck everyone!
  2. Aww, sorry to hear that for those that didn't get in...that's a bummer. I am STILL waiting :anbd: but I pretty much know by now my chances are slim...doesn't look like they've sent out anymore acceptances.
  3. I'm pretty sure that is for general ug admissions since when you call admissions the automated voice says you will hear no later than april 1st.
  4. Hi Elle, I was in a similar situation as I got accepted to both Drexel and SUNY Bing (I am currently waiting to hear from SUNY Stony Brook as well). I go to Bing right now for undergrad and I am graduating in May. I am kinda sick of it here and the weather doesn't help. When I was considering the two schools I was mainly thinking about how Philly is a much bigger city with probably better hospitals/connections. But I've heard a lot about how crime-ridden the Philly area is so that kinda deterred me. Also, I've read a lot of threads about Drexel's HESI exams and how hard it is to pass. In the end I decided not to go to Drexel because I didn't think it would be worth the extra money. Also, I think you have your dates wrong because Drexel's program starts in September 2011 and its an 11 month program so it would end in August 2012. Binghamton's program starts the day after memorial day in May and ends the following May. Anyway, I hope that helps! Feel free to message me. PS- Bing can be pretty miserable at times but it is what you make of it and you also get what you pay for when it comes to state schools...I've never felt like my education ever lacked here tho (minus a few exceptions) so I definitely think it's worth it for the money
  5. Congrats!! I'm really jealous of you all. I have no tabs yet
  6. Same here but these past few weeks have gone by pretty fast...only 2 more to go! (and hopefully less than that!)
  7. I thought so too. I don't have the letter with me because I'm at school and the letter was sent to my house but my mom said that it says May 1st yet on the website it says: Enrollment Deposit Deadline: Admitted students must submit their enrollment deposit by April 1st, or within 20 days of the date printed on their admission letter, whichever is later.
  8. That surprises me...your private schools must be cheap because most are like 50k. I thought the SBU tuition for out of state was around 20-25k?
  9. Thanks for the advice jujubee1...I was considering going to Drexel over Binghamton because I was worried about how well Binghamton really teaches you to be a nurse, the resources that they have and the quality of their hospitals. You have confirmed my suspicions. But really it comes down to how much cheaper the SUNY schools are...you get what you pay for when it comes to state schools vs. private I suppose.
  10. Yeah parking can be quite annoying. I mean, you are never not going to find a spot but you might have to walk a bit (its not too bad except when it's 10 degrees out lol), it's a gamble really if you try to go for the closer lots. I've never heard of the bus lines being sketchy though, I've used them a few times and it was fine. I wouldn't want to have to rely on the buses though because they can be cancelled due to weather even if classes are not cancelled. I'd definitely recommend seeing a few places, I think I checked out 4 before I chose this one. If it doesn't have off-street parking then make sure it has a decently wide street cause some streets can be narrow.
  11. Hey b419, I go to bing for undergrad - I actually live in an apartment off campus now but my lease is up in may and they already found someone to fill it. Stonybrook is still my first choice but I won't find out for a couple weeks if I got in. It's hard to say what places to avoid, some streets you can just tell are nicer than others. I'd say westside is pretty good, lots of college apartments there. I was thinking of just getting an apartment on campus to avoid the hassle, but it is a lot more expensive so idk.
  12. No, I haven't gotten any emails from them.
  13. Thanks! Lol Yeah I don't think I'll have any freakouts...but you never know! haha
  14. So I found out today that I got into Binghamton :) I'm so much more relieved now, but Stony is still my top choice...Hopefully we hear soon!
  15. Just got my acceptance letter today :) Good luck s0ad...I'm sure you'll get in.
  16. Yeah it's definitely possible, there were a couple people in my A&P class that were in the program but didn't finish the pre-req's yet. I mean I'm sure it's best to have as many as possible done but as long as you have a plan to complete them it should be fine. My undergrad GPA is a 3.3...I'm not sure what my pre-req is but it's prob similar.
  17. Hey guys, I am currently waiting for an admissions decision from bing too. I am a senior undergrad at bing. I think it's very possible to get in right from undergrad...I know someone who is in the program now and she was a senior last year. I didn't submit my application stuff until november so that's probably why I haven't gotten a response yet, but I completed all my pre-req's already.
  18. I applied to binghamton's BAT program, I haven't heard anything yet either. I called them like a week ago and they said they were "working on it" and that they mailed some already.
  19. Hi Dubra - that is a really tough decision. If I were you I would probably do the LPN, having benefits especially with a family is really important. Either way it has to be a decision that you can live with no matter what the outcome of stonybrook's decision is. This waiting is really frustrating, but we've waited this long so we can wait a little bit longer. At least we know they are not rushing through our applications and they are actually taking the time to go through them.
  20. This makes me think that tomorrow, instead of getting a decision,we will all get an email saying we need to wait another month...
  21. Its not on the login page its here: http://it.cc.stonybrook.edu/solar Its in the side box where it says "Solar News"
  22. Soooo it says this on the SOLAR homepage.... NOTICE: Due to system maintenance, the SOLAR System and PeopleSoft System will be unavailable starting at 5:00PM on Friday, January 21st. Systems are expected to be available by 5:00PM on Saturday, January 22nd. We apologize for this inconvenience. No SOLAR checking for a whole 24hrs!!...Painful.
  23. I applied to Binghamton and Drexel. I got in to Drexel but I would rather go to a SUNY for the tuition. I go to Binghamton now for undergrad, I'm also waiting to hear from them.
  24. I sent in my transcripts from last semester at the beginning of January and they just updated my SOLAR saying that they were received on Jan 14th (friday) so I don't think it means that they've made a decision already I just think it takes them a bit to process it. This is probably going to be the slowest week ever! I am going to work hard to distract myself from checking SOLAR every 10 seconds! lol
  25. Ok so even tho I was already accepted somewhere else, I REALLY want to go to stonybrook...and it makes me mad that I didn't apply to the 2yr. I know I can't change that now but I feel I will be saying "what it...?" about a billion times if I don't get in. I think it will be worse if I am waitlisted instead of just denied bc then I will have to decide whether to wait and chance it or accept admission somewhere else....and I am on break from school so I have absolutely nothing to do but think about these things lol Ok I promise not to post anything else unless I have actual news...haha
