  1. Anyone else here starting the program in August? Just wondering if you got your financial aid package details yet. Excited to have clinicals at CCF :) Renee
  2. I really think you need experience with PA/swan ganz catheters (not just inserting). You may get into a program but you will have rotations in cardiothoracic and need to be very comfortable with swans/advanced hemodynamics. I think you should try PRN in an CVICU while you are in the process of getting into school. This way you work with the meds/swans/alines enough before school starts. Renee
  3. I am starting the program in fall 2011 and I am wondering what your typical schedule is like. What hours are you guys in class and clinicals? Do you have clinicals on weekends and holidays? Just curious. Renee
  4. Just play it cool :) CONFIDENT! Try to hide your nervousness. They didn't ask me a single clinical question. Just wanted to know about my background (a little), the cases I observed, the CRNA's name I followed, what I did to relax, and why I would be good for the program. It only lasted 10 minutes or so. Get there early so you have time to park and find your way. You made it this far....You will be great! Renee
  5. I'm glad it went well for you. Sorry about the GF...you won't need the distraction anyway :) Renee
  6. I live in Northeast Ohio. They called me the same day I received my letter so maybe you should check in on Monday. Good luck :) Renee
  7. So, I got my acceptance letter yesterday.....YAY! Hopefully all goes well for you and we are classmates next fall. Good Luck. Renee
  8. I had a friend interview there last year and he said it was intense. You take a critical care type test and they do a lot of clinical questioning. They went over specific answers he got wrong and treated him like he was not qualified. I also heard they commented about his age (40). I hope his experience was an isolated incident. Renee
  9. I had my interview yesterday morning at 910am. They said that this was the first day of interviews. Also, for every spot, they would interview 2-3 people. It was very informal. Lasted about 15 minutes. Asked why I wanted to be a CRNA, about my shadowing experience, why I should be chosen as a student, and what I do for relaxation. It was a panel of 8 or 9 people. I just was friendly and confident and they seemed like they liked me. Told it could be 2 wks or after january before I find out. I hope soon though :) Good luck. Renee
  10. I've been told that everyone does not get an interview. My interview is Sept 21st. I applied at the end of July. Call the admissions office if you have any general questions. They were helpful to me. Renee
  11. I have an interview Sept 21st. I applied around the end of July. I also "put my eggs in one basket" because after researching the programs in the area, Case is where I want to go. Good luck. Renee
