  1. no call for interview yet. maybe i should let this go now
  2. I applied to 5 adult positions. Are they starting to interview on the adult side?
  3. I'm sorry to hear that. I've been receiving tons of rejections since the hunt. I think the economy has a huge impact bec. it would really be costly for some institutions to have residency programs. Are you currently working now? What's your state?
  4. It's good to have an outlet you can spill your feelings about finding a job and struggling being unemployed. Got my CA RN license in Jan2011 and trying to land a RN job anywhere. Passed hundreds of applications online which seems like sending to a blackhole (then I learned that most employers are only considering applicants that are referred and just ignore those who aren't). Applied to diff. RN Residencies in diff. states and the competition is really crazy (ex. only I graduated last yr, I'm staling, I don't fit as a "new grad" anymore, very expensive RN refresher courses which doesn't guarantee an employment and I don't know where would I get money for that. I used to be this guy who's full of hopes, goal-oriented, productive & motivated, now I'm depressed, frustrated, stressed and broke. That's my story, what's yours?:)
  5. Anyone heard from the Seton Select Program?
  6. good question. im wondering as well
  7. I also applied for the Seton Select Program and they told that they gonna start calling to schedule an interview 2-3 weeks from the July 19 Open House so you have to wait till like August 8 onward. I know it can be stressful but you have to calm down and it may take awhile for them to review like a hundred of us applicants who're applying for this 6 slots available. Our application has already been routed & approved, so far so good and all we have to do is wait till 2nd-3rd week of August. Goodluck buddy!
  8. It's a new program for critical care under the Seton Versant Residency Program. They train the selected 6 on one of the five hospitals of Seton for 14weeks (like the way they train at the seton versant) then immediately you will fill an open position in the ICU however it may not be your first choice hospital.
  9. critical care via seton select program
  10. I submitted my application last June. They emailed me that my application has been approved on July and had me filled up another application. After that I attended the Open House and handed resume to the hiring managers. Then someone from the HR called me today (July 25) that my application online has been routed to the hiring managers.
  11. Hi guys I attended the Open House event last July 19, 2011. I'm so glad I was able to talk with the hiring managers and was able to apply on the critical care field but it is under the Seton Select Program. Once selected, we will be trained for 14 weeks on one of the Seton Family of Hospitals and then fill a position once it's open. My application was routed to the hiring managers. So do I just wait for them to call me for an interview? I remember when I handed them my resume they said they gonna call me 2-3weeks if I'm qualified for an interview. If I get hired I would have to move from California to Austin. I hope they provide like a relocating assistance. Pls. do share your experiences applying for this residency program. I also wonder what kinds of questions do they ask. Goodluck to all who've applied and hoping the best for us all.
  12. I'm applying now for the October cohort. I'm a foreign BSN grad last yr and already have a RN California license. Thanks for the advice. I was wondering if they'll give you time for my license to be endorsed. Goodluck on your NCLEX! I believe you can do it
  13. do you have a YM? mine's [email protected]. just hit me up if you've questions
  14. from Philippines. When I was submitting my application to the recruiter, I gave them a copy of my BSN transcript of records and paid 50bucks for the agency who'll evaluate if it is accredited. What's your state?
  15. To clear things up, this is an email sent to me by an AMEDD representative... You do not have to take the ASVAB, nor do you attend basic training. As long as you have a BSN (accredited bby the CCNE or NLN and obtained within the United States or Puerto Rico), and a green card, you can apply for the "Army Reserve Nurse Corps". To apply for "Active Duty", you must be a U.S. citizen. Respectfully, Jeffrey Kuwaye, Contractor AMEDD Representative U.S. Army Recruiting Command MPRI 1-877-345-4601 *But the recruiter told me that even if I'll just be in the army reserve, I still have to undergo ASVAB & the basic training. It seems that they don't know what are they doing. But anyway, I canceled my application in the army. I'll try to be in the Air Force or Navy for reserve. It's better there that's what I've heard from many
  16. You're right. So I'm thinking maybe I could just wait to become a US citizen and apply as a civilian nurse first so that when I enter the military, I'll have the experience + citizenship. The thing is, it's kinda tough right now to land a RN job!
  17. I only have a green card that's why I won't be able to become an officer in the army.
  18. That's what I'm thinking about too when I was at the recruiting office I know something is wrong. Do you know how will I contact a recruiter that specifically for nurses? My BSN is accredited by the NLNAC
  19. Thanks my BSN has been evaluated by the NLNAC and it is accredited. I emailed someone from the Army Medical and told me that I don't have to take the ASVAB nor take the training because I already have my BSN and my green card. I'll contact my recruiter right now. Thank for the info.
  20. I got it outside US. My Transcript of Records are now being evaluated but pretty sure it is accredited.
  21. thanks for that info. i don't know if i'm ready to undergo the basic combat training
  22. I'm a foreign nurse with BSN degree last yr. No working experience and a permanent resident in US I was at the military recruiter awhile ago and they told me that I couldn't be on an active duty as a nurse because I'm not yet a US citizen and instead they will put me on the army reserve and have to pass the ASVAB first. I also have to undergo the basic combat training. Is that required to all the nurses entering the military? I'm kinda confused right now. I thought that even w/o working experience, they will train you to have one. It's like they try to put me as a soldier reserve and not as a nurse. I'm confused.
  23. for me, nclex is way easier than our philippine board exam.. it's just that there's a lot of pressure in nclex bec it's expensive and you can't afford to fail hahaha!
