  1. Every disgusting thing you can think of...you will do. If you are not prepared to do so, this may be the wrong line of work. Yes many places have cnas or lpns to do this work but it depends on the facility.
  2. I got in to a very competitive nursing school with a 3.1 gpa....so many factors go into the decisions of who gets in. Does your school require you to take the TEAS? That score is what got me in. The department will also look to see if you repeated the science classes also so be careful with that. I would talk to an advisor, they will know what criteria that particular school requires.
  3. This is my first day/post here....so here's my question. 11 years ago I was working in a nursing home, did a transfer alone when the care plan called for 2 aides, incidently the transfer did not go smoothly and the patient's leg was cut on the wheel chair. The state investigated and my certificate was not revoked and I was not reported to the aide registry, however I was fired because I was on probation (new employee) and was not allowed to have union representation. I know I was completely wrong in my decsion to transfer alone and have been working ever since with no other incidents of any type. So my question is....will I be able to take my rn boards? I know I need to call the BON for a definitive answer, would just like to know if anyone has any information regarding this type of situation. No other record of any type. Any advice would be helpful.
