Is there a really severe nursing shortage in NZ?
Well today was my last day at Uni and there are no jobs really. well...its not that nurses are not needed but there is no funding in my area in UK:down:. Am now thinking of where to emigrate to. Years ago, NZ was short of nurses. Does anyone know if the hospitals take on newly qualified nurses with no experiences? Thanks.

Daft things you've done after night shift
Put the knife in the fridge and the butter in the sink. When I woke up later, I was sure someone else did that and not me.

Racial discrimination in Australia
Am a black female who went on a holiday to Australia last year. Before I went, I had heard horror stories of how badly I would be treated. However, I went to Gold Coast with an open mind and loved it. I feel that God gave me this colour and whoever doesnt like it its their problem not mine. I dont think that Australia is racist. Australia is a lovely country. A few people living in Australia may have a problem with people of colour but I would not label the entire population as racist.

Uk for Uk?
I love it here but my only problem is that with my pay I cannot afford to buy a house once am qualified. My friends in USA seem to manage no bother and would not come back as the pay here is that bad. I need to work in a place where I can be independent. Enough of living with mom and dad.

Trying to pick a city:Houston, Dallas, or Austin?
I live in Scotland but if I had to move to Texas, it would have to he Houston. Came to that conclusion after reading all the posts.

Adult nurses wanting to work in the USA..
Great! Just wonder if the CGFNS accepts distant theory learning or does it not matter. 2250 pounds does not seem bad and 3 months placement is OK I guess. Cheers for the quick reply.
