Unit Based Staff Educator??
I am currently doing a project for school (going for my MSN) in which I am proposing having unit based nurse educators. At the large hospital where I work there is a formal education department tasked with training the staff but, getting new information to the staff is not very effective and is very impractical given the small size of the training department and the large size of the institution (800 bed hospital). Therefore, if each unit had its own educator it would be better. How do you stay current with changes in your facilities changes in policies, documentation, evidence based research, core measures, joint comission, etc??? Things seem to change on a daily basis. Thanks!!! Chris

Mosby's CAT... how accurate is it?
I took and passed NCLEX in September with 75 questions. Prior to that I had done Kaplan Online Course and was getting 60's -70's on their tests. I also did the Mosby CAT a couple of times and it gave me a 92-99% chance of passing. So continue doing what you are doing it sounds like you'll do fine (although you won't feel that way after NCLEX). Good Luck!

CRNA vs. MD Paper
Hi All, I'll be finished with my BSN in a month and my last class involves writing a position paper. Since CRNA is my eventual goal I decided to write about acceptance of the CRNA vs. MD. I know there have been posts about this topic but I can't seem to find it. So if any of you have any input about this topic (pros and cons) that would be wonderful. Thanks!

PCCU vs. ICU experience
Hello! I am new to this board. In August I will complete a 2nd degree program with a BSN. After passing boards I have opportunity to work in the PCCU of a large teaching hospital. I have a job offer. This summer I will be doing a preceptorship in the ICU of small community hospital (12 bed unit). I don't know if they will hire me for September but, indications are good that if preceptorship goes well it shouldn't be problem. My question..... Does the PCCU count as ICU experience for acceptance into CRNA programs? Any thoughts on PCCU vs ICU??? thanks, chris :)
