I work with a L.V.N. who tells us that she doesn't give doctor order sleeping pills after midnight, and also tell family members that she doesn't think that they shouldn't go into to their rooms at 2a.m. in the morning when the person of the nursing home called them to come up their because they wanted to see them an be with them because they were scared an all they wanted was to see their family members so that they could at least rest easier than what they are going to. One resident wanted to see her daughter an so the resident called her at 2a.m. in the morning an wanted her daughter to come up to the nursing home where she was at because she was scared an just wanted to see her daughter, well the daughter got up an got dressed an came up to where she was at an the Night nurse in charge said she wasn't going to tell her mother that she was their an that she didn't think that she should have been called . The other night this same nurse told another resident's family member that she wasn't going to give her daughter her night time sleeping pill to help her mother sleep at night an yes it is doctor order but still she didnt' think it was the right thing to do an told the daughter that she didn't think that the sleeping pill was working either . Please help me decide what to do because this is a No win ordeal here , because of whats going to on their now . :angryfire Not to mention the stuff that she makes us do . She chops up ones medicine an puts it into a jelly sandwich an hands it to us to give to this one resident so she doesn't have to.... Now mind you we are just C.N.A.'s an we are passing dr.order medicines now. Confused In Texas

I think that they should offer online nursing degrees for all nurses even those that are just starting out an not just for R.N.'s but for them all because its basically the same anyway an so they should just target just the R.N.'s you see it would help out alot for the those that have children an can't get anyone to watch your children while your in school . I work a 12 hour shift an its hard for me to go to school an work too so that is what I think that it would be a good idea for them to start online classes for all the nursing programs an too I have children (3) ranging from 5,8, 15 an its hard with them to leave them with someone to watch them an worring about them at night , without trying to work an keep my head while I'm working. So yes I think that starting a online program for all nursing would be a great idea for those that can go to school. Thanks

Hi, I'm a CNA an I want to go to school an all but I don't know who I need to talk about it an I to I have children an no husband an I also work a 12 hour shift at the nursing home an its going to be hard I know but I've been a Certified Nurses Aide for over 14 years an I just want to better myself an be able to give my children the kinda of things that they need , But I can't do it on what I make now so I want to know if their is anything like someone to help you with the schooling part or is it just you an the school an know one else. I need to get the books so that I can start studing for the classes an then I can go an take the test . Where I work at said that I can take my clincials their an that they would sign off on them but I just need the lots of information on this an is it possible to do this without having to go to school . Please if you can answer these questions please do so . I live in Texas an I don't know if its the same everywhere too. Thanks

I would like to know if their is anyone out there that has the books for the nursing classes that they wouldn't mine loaning out or even selling to me for a reasonable price . I am going back to school to get my nurses degree an I'm paying for it all on my own an I have found out that its very costly an I just don't think that I will have enough money to go around. An to I work a 12 hour shift so I would like to take my classes via the internet so that I can be here with my children because I can't afford a babysitter at this time .
