I want to do really well in BSN and then get ICU experience for a year or 2 and apply get into a university for CRNA degree. Would you mind if I bug you in future with some question in case they come up? Thank you again for taking the time to reply!
  2. hi Amy. Saw ur post and ma wondering what you thought of lakeview college? What is their admission criteria like? I am applying for fall 2011 for accelerated BSN and want to be an ICU nurse. Would you happen to know if it is difficult to find a job after studying there. I've read it in a few posts and that worries me. I'd appreciate any and all help. MCC - Muscatine? I ma taking courses at Scott Community in Bettendorf. Thank you in advance!
  3. hi there neats. i am applying to lakeview for fall 2011. 16 month bsn program. was a wondering what you thought of the program there. do you have any idea about what sort of things they look at in terms of admission? also, which campus is better to attend? what is their pass rate for license exam? and, i've heard that some people have had problems finding a job after studying there which concerns me. i want to be an ICU nurse but worried if i will have issues getting a job. thank you in advance! :-)
  4. Congratulations! I hope the start has been good at Lakeview. I am applying ot lakeview for accelerated bsn for fall 2011 and am wondering what you think of the school so far. also, would you happen to know what sort of things they look at more for admissions. like gpa or the hesi a2 test. do you have any advice for the hesi a2 test. i am taking mine in march and am freaking out a little b/c there is no proper resource to study for it. i'd appreciate any and all input form oyu. thank you in advance!!! again, congratulations!
  5. Hi there. Did you get any info on the GPA and other things Lakeview looks at in terms of admissions? I am applying for fall 2011 but not sure what my chances are and which campus to apply to.
  6. I know they state the 2.75 GPA on the school website but do you have any idea what the average student might have as GPA. I have a 4.0 now and in all the sciences/math but I went through a rough patch in my 3rd year of college due to family etc and that really sank my GPA and now my overall GPA (even though I have 4.0 since then) is 2.9. So am wondering if they put more weight on total GPA or they consider individual classes as well and anything else? Thank you in advance!
  7. Hi there, that was useful post. thank you. I am applying to lakeview in a week or 2 and am wondering if you know much about which campus is better to apply to? I am applying for the accelerated BSN program and want to work in ICU after. I've heard many conflicting things about Lakeview and am a bit worried if it is the right decision or if I am going to have issues later getting a job. How do you find your experience so far? What is the true pass rate for the license exam? Are you learning a lot? Are the facilities good? I would appreciate any and all help and advice. Thank you so much in advance! I hope your classes are going well
  8. Hi there. I saw your post on allnurses.com and wanted to ask you a couple of questions. I am applying to Lakeview college of nursing for the 4 semester BSN program for Fall 2011. I want to get a CRNA degree later so after my BSN from lakeview I want to work in ICU for 1-2yrs before I apply for CRNA. I am wondering if you wouldn't mind sharing your experience a bit with me. What did you think of the school? Good, bad, average? You have been working a few yrs now, do you think it matter where you get your BSN for ICU job? Did you have a hard time getting the ICU job? Were the teachers/education good? you mentioned you went to EIU-Charleston, IL. Is that a better campus or better town or better education? Did you get to do your rotations in decent hospitals or more nursing home settings? I would really appreciate any and all help. Thank you so much. If you find email easier, my email is [email protected] and my name is Maddie. Thank you so much!
  9. just called and found out i did not get in. :-( very disappointed.
  10. Congratulations to those who got in!!! well done!!! I am waiting. I didn't know that calling them was ok to do. I know some schools really hate it when students do that but it seems they are ok with it, based on the comments here by students. So I guess I will take a deep breath and call them tomorrow. So scared. I think I just vomited a little in my mouth. Good luck to everyone! Is there any one person, who is better to get in touch with about this or just anyone they connect you to? Just curious? Who did you talk to Olivia10? Thanks !
  11. CONGRATULATIONS BECKY! Well done. I am playing the waiting game. I have been out of school for a long time and only recently went back to school so we'll see how they see me as an applicant. The school staff is really friendly and willing to help. I know last semester they took a while to send the letters out to many students. Not sure how this semester will be. Fingers crossed.
  12. Hi everyone, I applied for Fall 2010 ABSN and was put on the waitlist but did not get in. I am in the process of applying for Spring 2010 ABSN program but not sure what my chances will be. I read here that some people were put on waitlist as well and called in to find out what the issues may be. I never did that when I got my waitlist letter (march 2010). Is it wise to do so now? I am not sure who I would talk to as they only gave me the number for student services and the letter are signed by the dean (no specific adviser). Would appreciate what insight you guys might have here. THANKS!
