  1. Yes I am sooo ******. I actually trusted these people to come through with their words, and I get screwed. I just want anyone to know or if they are trying to find out some info with these people to not waste your money$$$ doing so.
  2. Hi people of distance Learning systems! Please if you leave in the cleveland, ohio area and LPN thinking of getting your RN, Do NOT go through the distance learning syatems in Solon ohio, they are rip offs such as Rue,TCN, ect. They bind you in the same contract. they claim to have these "classes".,..... Its all ********!! The classes are just some tutor they have hired who has no idea about Excelsiors program, then distance learning systems in greenwood IL has teamed up with them to provide "materials" that will be on the exams, which are not!! The program is around $8,000, and the materials are ****. More than half the exam was NOT on any of the materials. Also the give a little **** CD, and if you want a printed book its $25.00 more. These scumbags need to go down. And I am ready to take them down! If anyone has any helpful information to give please post. This is a warning people, do not fall for this!!
  3. If you could pay for it out of pockect that would be best. The issue is they charge you for the tutoring which is about $350 or so, then they chaRGE YOU for the study materials which is another $300 or so. The company makes your pay for all the classes you need up front. They do not let you take a class here or there. They have there own finacing company, it approves everyone, but they directly take the $$ out of the bank account. I paid in full unfortunatly, and I have taken humanities and human growth& Development and not to happy with out comes. More than half the info on the exams were not in the study materials, the instructor cut our 4 hour study session to 2 hours. Not happy with this service
  4. No. Distance learning systems and northcoast tutor ing
  5. this program is a ripp off.
  6. CMLPN- Thank you for the encouragement! Yes I paid the $30 for MYACCESS. I messed around with it for a little bit. I am going to start this week and focus much more on the course. How long did it take you to study for the college writing? Have you ever done college writing course before?
  7. I am studying Uexcel college writing right now. It seems ok but I have been putting much into either. I have been studying for Nursing theroy health saftey which seems to be a review for me. Thanks for the inspiration towards college writing!
  8. Hey Pixiedust! I am right now doing some CLEP courses. Thought it may be wise to get some GE classes out of the way and then focus on my nursing courses. Plus the CLEP courses are cheaper through collegeboard.com and also college writing through uexceltest.com is only $85! for my english exam! I am trying right now to stay focused hopefully I do ok! I will let you know how it goes. I am trying to exam for english no later than oct. is my deadline. .... I will see how it goes. Thanks for your help and advice.
  9. HI Pixiedust0305 I am just starting soooo.... Nursing H&S.... and I am trying to get some GE classes done CLEP....Collegeboard bc its alot cheaper. Like $77 an exam...cant beat that! Anyways.... do you have to pay a fee to the solon place? If so how much? I am gonna start making deadlines for myself to start study and taking the test. I will see how it goes that way, if it doesnt work then i may look into the tutoring stuff. As for now i am trying to do it the less expensive way. how are you paying for excelsior?
  10. So does the solon North Coast tutoring services just help with tutoring?
  11. @Pixiedust0305, I live in the cleveland area also and just recently got something in the mail from the solon distance learning. I didn't quite understand it. I am just starting excelsior classes this month. Does the solon office help tutor or what?
  12. I am currently a LPN, so I need all the GE classes. I was reading on a thread that RUE and college network are ripe off's and to just order stuff off ebay and amazon. it seems to be a bit cheaper. Might wanna check that out. I would like some more clarification from a current student too!
  13. Hi..... I Don't have an answer to your questions. I was actually coming on here to post the same questions!:) I am very confused from studying from their outline/guide. I was wondering if someone could possibly inform me if they actually just bought books or what?! I feel so confused about studying for the exams already! I just recently bought a CD study guide off ebay(which they have a ton!) and wasn't sure if that was what alot of people used or did they use the books? someone please help!!! I haven't yet used the study guide i purchased yet, but I will def let you know how it is. By the way are you paying for the course by the way you go or did you take out a private loan?
  14. currently a LPN in state of Ohio and looking into starting at excelsior online courses. I was checking out alot of programs in the cleveland area but alot of driving time, and i have a family which means I need to work! I feel like I have gotten good info by reading threads, but a couple questions if someone could help me. I have just LPN course, no other college credits. Do I take Micro, english and A&P through excelsior directly? I was going to take the classes through our community college but unfortunatly they want you to take a certain BIO class before going into A&P, and the same with Micro. Can anyone help me?
