I'm 49 yo with 2 grown daughters and one beautiful grandson. I've been working in a level III Nicu in a community hospital in southern NJ for 2 1/2 years. Prior to that I worked in Med/Surg for 16 years. I love the Nicu and am soooo glad that I finally decided to make the move. I still feel like I've got so much to learn, but each day I feel like I learn something new..This board has been such a learning experience for me..Thanks to you all! Linda from NJ

The Unit I work in has access to two full-time lactation consultants, one of which has experience as a nicu nurse. She is great with the mom's of premie's. The other likes to stay with the post-partum moms and will only come if you page her numerous times and Kim, (the nicu nurse) is not on that day. With all the mom's who are choosing to breastfeed today we really need our own consultant just for the Nicu. :) Linda from NJ

Wow, sounds like it's slow all over. My nursery cencus has been down for quite some time now...They are actually doing mandatory cancellations! We're also getting pulled to general nursery. Not used to having 7-10 babies!! Hope the census goes up soon! Linda
