  1. Fun2care, you might call el centro health occ office and tell them you would be interested in THR program. They do accept community members, you would have to sign a contract to work for THR for 2 years after graduation. If you took a position with THR the benefits are second to none, tuition reimbursement of 5260 a year for full time.........................starting to sound like recruiter sorry. It is another avenue however to reach your nursing school goal, so worth the shot. Also if you pm me or probably brie2200 we could give you number for THR person with more info, it might be good to talk with her to see if you would need anyhting else with your application. best wishes Heath
  2. Brie2200, 1st semester lecture is on tuesday from 4p-830p @ THR corp office in arlington. Your clinical day would be, if on Ft Worth side either be Wed. or Thursday. Expierence speaking if you can get thursday clinicals, because you have to get your pt the night before and have some paperwork to complete. LINC is a program for clinical positions to recieve pay for school time, this semester i worked 24 hours and got paid for 36. You would have to transfer to a patient care position to take advantage of this, you might have to wait until your first semester is over to get a tech job unless you are cna or emt. There is 1 person from the Er @ hmsw that is applying that i know of. As far as letters are concerned I got mine on xmas eve, a cool suprise to say the least. Good Luck with everything. Heath
  3. Clinicals are one day a week, 630a-300pm. You also get the normal school breaks, so cruise away. Hesi has 2 different tests one for entrance and one for exit, it is used as a nclex predictor test. As far as my manager goes she was great, I worked 4 twelves a week my first 3 semesters. Overtime every week makes for good check!!! I used LINC for last semester just becuase of the increase in clinicals. Good luck Heath
  4. Brie2200, Yes there will be plenty of time to order scrubs. Clinical doesnt start until mid to late Feb. so you have plenty of time. I havent taken nclex yet as our Hesi test is not until 12-16-05, the exit exam for the program. I did do clinicals 1 and 2 semester @ HEB, wich is not option for first semester any more. I did my 3rd semester clinicals @ HMSW, and this past semester i was @ HFW in the ER. It is a good program and you will learn alot, just be prepared to study most of the people in my class were 4.0 students when they started and have earned a few b's and c's since starting. Take a deep breath and enjoy your time off, you will miss it shortly but itis worth it. Later Heath
  5. Brie2200, good luck with the THR program. I just finished the program and it is awesome............and difficult. But anything worth having is. The THR program is awesome because all of your skills are front loaded for the semester, meaning you dont have check-offs all semester long. This also means you can order your scrubs in early January and still have plenty of time. It is also nice to have ALL of your books handed to you on your official orientation day. THR also does a Pharm class through El Centro for credit or CE, not required but very handy for your Pharm tests every semester. I hope this shines a little light for you if you have any questions feel free to ask. Heath
  6. For those of you who got the letter non-placement letter from El Centro it might be a good idea to ask them if you might be eligble to enter the THR/EL Centro class. I am going to graduate from this program in december and there are people who have gotten in and not worked for THR. They accept 40 people and dont make there desicion until late. Got my letter on xmas eve 2003. Give it a try anyway...........all they can say is no. P.S. They provide all books, scantrons, etc. They will make you sign a contract to work for THR if you dont already and you get tuition assistance immediately.
