I got an email from RF a few minutes before 1600 that I've been accepted into the FNP program. I also checked the log on after I saw the email and it said no decision has been made yet. I did not get the email from the graduate division as some other people stated. Stay positive to those whose log in says no decision has been made to date!!!! Best of luck

Wow, I wish someone could have also told you that doing the process in person is faster. If you did it online it may actually take a yr. For me I went in person filled out an application, got an interview date for 4 weeks later, at the interview i was told if i passed i would receive a letter in 6wks with my results and eligibility. and thats just how it happened and I was automatically placed on the list and started making those calls!!! Since you did the online process you have to wait it out now (my friend did the same thing, it had been like 3 months and she hadn't been contacted for an interview-she has since been hired by another facility) (she did tell me there was a problem with her application and not all documents were received, so be sure to call and follow up make sure you let them know you are interested and as in my friends case if there is an issue fix it to help the process) I don't know how proactive you are, but with any of these processes you HAVE to be because the other 90% of nurses competing for the same position will be super proactive and involved in their process letting the employer know they are interested/really want the job etc. i only saw this because i have seen it. Classmates who were not offered a position at their "dream" hospital instead of taking the rejection kept calling asked to meet eith everyone asked for a second chance or to at least meet with someone and be told why they were not hired. let's just say they never had to meet with anyone they were told sorry we over looked you you can come interview. Another friend put in countless applications and finally decided to be proactive and follo-up with her apps, suddenly wks later she was called to interview. at the interview the recruiter said she chose her because she had seen her name everytime she applied and also because she expressed interest by following up. I'm not saying that will be your case because it depends on the facility and you as well ( i don't know anything about you so its hard to guide you in any which way) something else i had started to try before i got hired was that i googled a list of hospitals in CA i went to the website of ones that were at least driving distance and applied. I didnt get to finish but you should try that, you'll miss places you never knew existed. CHOC- Children's Hospital of Orange County, CHLA Children's Hospital of Los Angeles Also did you apply to UCLA's new grad program earlier this month??? they have started contacting for interviews.

FYI for you and all others interested placentia linda hospital is hiring new grads right now. they are a tenet facility located in placentia. the positions are new grad ones and the app is up until april 16, but the sooner the better. I do not know what this app entails but check it out! :monkeydance::lvan:

Also as Darkmoonlily replied volunteering is a great way to put yourself out there and network. I spoke to a recruiter at an event and she said that it is soooo hard to get a job right now because there are so many applicants and sometimes your documents get looked over too quickly (if at all ) However she said if you volunteer and make the people around you see how amazing/great/smart/knowledgeable you are they will vouch for you and say we must have her. SHe said often positions are created for volunteers because they wouold be a great asset to the floor. i'm not saying however, that EVERY floor will be this way, but I've known of some people who were hired in this manner. I'm not sure if you mentioned you tried being a monitor tech, unit secretary, cna. But she said those are also great ways. PM me if you'd like. I'd love to hear your story

I'm not sure if this is an avenue you have tried but Los Angeles County hires new grads. If you havent started with the process start NOW because it is lengthy. One of my classmates was hired in L&D. If you want more info regarding this let me know because if you already did this i don't want to post a novel on here ;-) Also CHOC opened their application March 15, not sure if its still open, but worth checking. CHLA will open theirs (or maybe for pick up like last time, not sure) april 1. You can pm me im not sure if I can see it because i'm a newbie and i can't pm yet! Stay positive and believe in yourself. If you don't believe in yourself no one else will! (trust me ^^^^ it's hard, esp with the current situation but just try. joyfulrn14 how has your new grad critical care experience been thus far????

I know how anxious this waiting game can be, so I'll post what I know: I also applied for the Med-Surg in December and no word! I applied to SICU a few weeks ago and I got an e-mail Jan 20. asking me to set up an interview for this week. My interview is actually tomorrow at 11am. My friend also got e-mailed and hers is tomorrow at 1pm. They said they alloted this week for interviews. Monday, tuesday, thursday and Friday. If a previous post is correct about Feb 15, i suspect the turnaround time will be FAST. p.s. i apllied to torrance memorial yesterday, not sure if its still up but at least one more place to apply =) good luck to everyone
