Sutter Health New Grad Positions
From what I hear, the sutter program is part of a Los Rios Health force initiative which is funded in part by a $5 million grant from the US department of labor. Which is probably why they are concentrating mostly on students who have graduated from the Los Rios College system, however I have heard that they hire a percentage of BSN students.

2011 may graduate job hunt
Do you have to move back to California? Northern or So Cal? I usually see more residency and new grad programs in So Cal. Time4me...wow I can't imagine in this economy anyone would turn down a night shift job! I'd kill (figuratively) for anything right now!

2011 may graduate job hunt
I graduated may 2010 also, applied for over 200+ jobs, LTC, hospitals, clinics, private practices, 4 interviews and still no luck. If I were you I would steer clear of california until you get your 1 year of experience. Over half of my graduating class still have not found jobs.

LVN asking new grad RNs in No. CA - R U finding work?
The market is tough in Nor Cal, have had a couple of interviews but for one reason or another never ended up being offered a position. There are about 6 out of our class of 29 who graduated in June who have gotten RN positions. My suggestion is to volunteer, it seems like thats the only way people are getting jobs these days...

Can NG Nurses take other hospital jobs (Hosp Assit, Unit Secretary)?
Just curious if anyone else has run into this information? I graduated in May 2010 and have been applying for job after job, but I really will do anything at this point just to get my foot in the door. I've been applying for unit secretary and hospital assistant jobs. I've also applied to volunteer programs at the various hospitals in the area. I'm just wondering if it is pointless, if they would hire a nurse to do a UAP job?? Thanks for your input!

Looking in Sac area
I've interviewed at UCD and I dont have a BSN. I've also talked to managers there who say that HR says BSNs are preferred but they will hire ADN nurses becuase they have more clinical experience. So its up to the unit and manager that you will be interviewing with.
