  1. I struggled in my first job as well and was fired. I now have a new job at a skilled nursing facility but I would still like to work in a hospital. Is it mandatory that I list my first nursing job on my resume when I was there for only 4 months? Is there any way a facility/hospital would find out that I worked there? I also was still in my probationary period when I was fired. Thanks
  2. Try Cleveland, OH. We have a ton of jobs here. I had to move back to OH after being unable to find work in CA for almost a year.
  3. My probationary period was actually 120 days and I got fired before then. I want to be honest but I'm worried that no one will hire me when they find out.
  4. I recently got fired from my first RN job out of school (which I graduated from in May 2010.) I made some stupid mistakes (gave platelets without checking for consent and wrote nursing note in wrong patient's chart. I feel really embarrassed about everything but now I need to find a new job. Should I include this last nursing job on applications or resumes? It's the only RN experience I have. I also only worked there for 3.5 months. The only other jobs I've had related to nursing was my nursing assistant job when I was in college. Please help!!
  5. Hey NurseHopefulInOhio, I tried going in person to LTC facilities but no one is hiring. I'm in California, by the way. Although, I'm starting to consider moving back to Ohio soon. When you applied in person, did you ask to talk to anyone? Do you mind if I ask how you did it to get the hiring manager's attention? The places that I've visited don't seem to let me talk to anyone when I fill out the application in person.
  6. I thought you had to have a year of experience to work in home health.
