  1. I'm a junior nursing student and have been thinking about my next move after graduation. I have been thinking about going into OB nursing but i have been told by a few experienced nurses that it is best to gain all experience in med surg first then move into my specilaty of interest. I would love to work in all phases of OB and even be able to work in labor and delivery. I'm afraid that if I go straight into OB nusring I would be missing out on all of the general skills and experieces of med surg. What do you suggest is my best move?
  2. I'm having a hard time doing this care plan. This patient is has been admitted with the complaint of numbness and tingling in both arms, hands, and legs. The patient also has cataract, HTN, cervical cancer and HIV. Some nursing diagnoses i came up with were Risk for decreased tissue perfusion Self care deficits related to visual deficit Ineffective Protection related to depressed immune system The patient does not have diabetes so its not related to that condition but I did read that neuropathy may be caused by HIV, chemo etc. Can somone help please, thanks. :)
  3. learning 2012 could i please get a copy of this as well. I'm struggling with pathophysiology and this may help!
  4. I will be starting school August 30th as well...I feel like im ready yet slightly worried but I think I can pull through. In my freshman year of college while taking my pre-reqs i heard so many rumors of how many people dropped classes before the semester was over and how many people passed. But I do realize that there are people who will say things just to scare everyone away but overall im confident, I know what I want and I know that I can do this!!!! I just need to layout a schedule as to what to do, what will be due for classes, when to study and when my next tests are to come. This year i'm giving it my all!!!! If any of you reading this thread have any advice or different ways to study please, please, please, share it with those of us who are just starting. Thanks!!
  5. thanks for the advice, i will be sure to use it:)
  6. ok thnx for the advice...im just trying to prepare myself lol
  7. So i've been accepted to the nursing program for fall 2010. I've completed my pre-reqs including A&P. I've also taken my microbiology class to get it out of the way so i can focus more for the program. Some classes i've been registered for in the nursing program are pathophysiology, nutrtition, health assessment, intro to nursing, as well as clinicals. I wanted to know what are some ways that i can prepare for the program? What could I do to pass and what are some great study habits to use. The program I am going into has been said to be very intense and i want to be prepared before i start. What are some things that some of the graduates have experienced while in the nursing program and what are some thing you did to help u survive. I am very anxious and I do believe in myself I just want to give it my all and focud much more so i can succeed because most people in the program drop out because it is so difiicult. So if anybody has any advice feel free to leave a comment. Also, I would like to know what are some of the main things in A&P i have to review before i start the program...Thanks
