Can you speak to how the state/federal taxes work for the reward? I've heard that since the money is taxed, it's not really 85% loan repayment. I'd be happy with whatever, but just wanted to know how you handled the tax burden.

I'm in the process of applying to a DNP program--any suggestions on writing the essay? The school I'm applying to requires two essays and a case study. I've been dreading it but need to get started.

Thanks for replying. My concern was that as a new post-master DNP student I would have to come up with a policy change capstone in my place of employment where I am a new hire. It's hard to go in as a newbie and change policy. I was honestly looking at a more clinically focused DNP--which doesn't really exist at many schools. Columbia seems to have a clinical focused DNP, so I will look into that program as well. How generous is Duke's Financial aid package?
