lpn seeking to further education with general questions
Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to blog with me!! So I've passed my Boards!!! :w00t: LOL!! I haven't even begin to work as a LPN, but I just know that I'll enjoy this field because I have a passion in caring for others, like I totally care about another person's emotional state! I know that I want to become a RN-BSN and possibly MSN, I've even considered PA!!! But lets face it, I'm 25 yo, married with 2 kids; boy 7yo, girl 3yo. It's been a tough road to get to where I am. I dropped out in the 11th grade due to family circumstances wnet to beauty school became a Licensed Cosmetologist, owned my own business very successful! Once I mastered this I wanted to further my education and see what else I could master.. This brought me to Nursing!! My Grandfather always knew I'd be a Nurse becasue he was a diabetic and my care for him at the age of I think 13ish came so naturally.. Administering insulin, taking blood glucose levels etc.. So he said it and it came to pass! My only concern is how do I go about continiuing this beautiful and blessed journey that God has allowed me to travel? I stared of at a Community College but moved to another state and started a Vocational College to just get my foot in the door bc I know that experiewnce is everything! ANd given my situation at the time this was the best choice I mean I do have bills and I don't see how I got through to actually graduating without having to work.. I kow that I can't afford this in continuing my education, not being able to work that is, so should I go with the program that I graduated from which is an awesome program that has RN-AA.. and just hope to bridge online to BSN.. or should I enroll in my local state college and start from scratch take it semester by semester and work as a LPN? FEEDBACK PLEASE!! :thankya:

MED SURG!!!!!! HELP!
Thanx guys, this is what I've thought all along.. And then you struggle because you see everyone getting ahead but still not even being able to explain why this or that is the result of such.. Me being the detailed person that I am, I know I won't change.. If nursing is meant to be, then I'll end up being the best nurse that I can be!

MED SURG!!!!!! HELP!
I knew I wasn't just sounding like a "know it all.''this is how people view me in class. they look at me like " child as long as i pass my test!" thank you so much because now i can relax myself, if i am going to be a nurse i want to be a good one, not relying on everyone to teach me the basics of what i should know when i graduate and get into the work field. i figured this will help me to be more confident and safe when i start working so that i may learn pretty fast. because they say "you learn everything when you graduate." but who wants to learn the basics and the "big picture" while working? certainly not me.. thanx again =) i'm back on my A game!

MED SURG!!!!!! HELP!
Clears throat... Sorry for the loudness, but I sit here and I wonder... Will I graduate nursing school, because I find myself being so detailed! It really kills me. Or am I doing right by doing so? I mean, the program is accelerated, and no matter how hard i try to stick to the BIG PICTURE, I almost always end up floating distantly to the paint brushes used, colors chosen lol! Ok I'm just being silly, but honestly how does one reset from being detailed or should one stay this way because I find that even though it's taking me a lot longer to grasp, I have detailed logic! So the question is should one stay detailed in an accelerated program just to pass the tests, or should one be ultimately prepared?

Another nurse bites the dust due to facebook
I don't know what this nusre posted, but professionalism has vanished in the work place these days. i am a lpn student excited to jump into the nursing industry!! however, i know that there are going to be a lot of things that work my nerves regarding ''Professionalism," due to the fact that my clinical settings are horrible at professionalism. it's scary!! where have the morals and ethnics gone? tisk tisk, I hope to make my way up to a nurse practioner or RN manager to bring class and eliteness back to the industry!!

Coworker issues - so disheartening
if you tried your best, then it's just her having to except the fact that you worked hard to get wherre you are, hello you are an RN! lol! people thrive off of authority when they should thrive off of camaradian. just remember to wash behind your ears so that she can't complain, continue to be nice and then one day she will get the picture that if she wants better she needs to step her game up...
