  1. Hey guys, I was wondering if you could give me some advice in what should do. I applied to 3 universities and did not get in this year. My gpa is a 3.46, my pre reqs is a 3.2 I have about 600 hrs of community service, not taking any ap courses. At this rate, I feel like im not a competitive student. So should I just apply to a community college and start in Jan of 2014 or should I take a year off and apply abd if I get lucky I'll get accepted. If I take a yr off, I was plannibg to work as a cna. I have talked to advisor and they really havent been much of a help. What do u guys think?
  2. 3 years?! Wow! I admire you! After getting 3 rejection letters, I ask myself is this is what I really want to do. Am I that bad? Is this all worth it? But now, im still stiving! There a times when I feel like I don't know anything about being a nurse. I will not give up though. Ill do what it takes to get me where I want to be.
  3. Im on the same page as you. I applied to uw and didn't get in, I have about 500 hrs of volunteer experience. Im thinking that my gpa is a bit low, my overall was a 3.46 and pre-reqs was 3.25. The only thing I can do now is to work as a cna and get my gpa up and write a better personal statement. As long as we dont give up, we will get somewhere!
  4. Does anyone know what they are looking for specifically through this proctored essay? Do they want to see our judgment when picking a patient or is it like you want to take on a challenge or your maturity level?
  5. I want to be a neonatal nurse. But I am having second thoughts. I feel like they don't hire a lot of neonatal nurses out there because from what I heard, sometimes the NICU only have 2 or 3 babies to take care of. Then that means they dont hire much. Am I right or wrong. I really like to take care of babies. What do you dislike about being a neonatal nurse. Is it boring? I live in Washington, so how many years does it take to become a neonatal nurse if I want to get my Bachelors degree?
