Hello there, I understand the IELTS is a MUST for all foreign trained nurses that want to work in OZ regardless of your qualifications or nationality unless if this has changed. Just keep on practising for the test, you will eventually get it. About the registration, Oz now has a National registration unlike USA where each state has its own. Good Luck y'all!!!

Hi liabug, I will definatetly do that. I dont really know about the ADN situation but if am not mistaken i thing you would be considered as LPN/LVN which they call them Enrolled nurses there...again am not so sure but i think i read something like that on this website

Just to comment on Ceridwyn's posts, am not looking at Australia as the cheapest place in the world but my question was ''what are some places that are cheaper as compared to other cities in OZ'. I'm sure u guys have some expensive and cheap places just like here in USA. Talk of crime, aah! its everywhere nowadays but i think Australia doesnt score highest on crime rate according to some research which is fair enough.

I am looking for a place not like New York but at the same time lively (not remote) and cheap. what would be the best place to raise a child and with cheaper cost of living? thanks.

Hi doza, thanks for the info, i was confused with the whole AHPRA. So this body doesnt necessarily register but evaluates? I will have to go back to the site and see. I have 2 yrs from Associate Degree and 2 yrs from BSN so it all adds up to 4 yrs as a registered nurse.

Thank you very much guys. I visited the AHPRA website and it still takes you to the nursing and midwifery council website for overseas registration.

Hie Ellie10, thanks for the info, i dont take it for granted that you spent time answering my questions. I am a little bit confused here, do i get my registration with ANMC or AHPR? I would love to get my registration before applying for a visa and i was thinking the ANMC is the one that does that. Or do i get registered with two different bodies? I thought Oz now has a national registration? I think am totally ignorant about this rego thing, please help. Thanks

Thank you very much for the info. Now,Ireland is ruled out so i just have to concentrate on Oz, which was my first choice anyway. The pay is alittle bit less than what i make here in USA but it all goes down to the cost of living too. Are nursing jobs easy to find? What about accomodation? how much would a 1 bedroom apartment(decent) cost a month? Once again, thanks for taking your time to answer my questions.

My situation is also similar but i do have a 4 year Bachelors degree/BSN from USA and am also trying to get a job in Australia. I have done research on this and still have few questions. Is it possible to get a Skilled worker Visa than the sponsored visa, considering that those other visas are limited to only your sponsor and so one cant have 2 jobs or change jobs? How is cost of living there? How much can an RN of 4yrs experience make an hour? What about nursing in Ireland? I have Ireland, Canada and Australia in mind. Thanks.

Hie there! I am trying to get an Australian license. I am a registered nurse with bachelors degree from USA and trying to relocate to Australia. Can someone please give me details on the whole process? I need to know the requirements, the board, the fees/charges, and some websites. I would also like to know if i can easily get a Sponsor... like a hospital for my immigration without using an agency.....agency would be my last option. And what are the rates/hourly rate for an RN with 4yrs experience? What is the cost of living? Which state/province would you recommend? I know nothing about Australia and would like to hear some feedback from someone who knows this place. Your help will be greatly appreciated!

The nursing market has been very slow in US. I am a nurse here with 4yrs experience and am looking for a job in other countries and Ireland is one of them. Check with some hospitals in those states and see if they might be willing to hire you, i dont want to say its impossible, but i would say its not going to be that easy. Some hospitals are actually cutting down hours for nurses. Why do u want to leave Ireland? Good luck!

I am nurse from Africa but studied and registred in USA. I am trying to relocate to one of these countries; Australia, New Zealand, Ireland. The problem is that the requirements for registration in these countries are long and complicated which means it might take me almost a year before i get there and my Visa in USA expired and was denied renewal. Is there any other developed country that has an easy/short registration process?
