Hello, all. I just want to add my experience with the PVT. I tested last Monday, 09/17/12. I graduated in May 2010, and had not tested prior to last Monday -- except for my PN back in 2007. I was pretty anxious with 28 months between graduation and testing, but I had to do it. My test was mostly the standard multiple choice, one ECG strip, 6 put the steps in order things, and a bunch of SATAs. I fully expected the test to go on past 75 questions, and when it did not, I was devastated. I cried in my car in the parking lot. I mostly was thinking that I was clueless about how to study differently than I had for this test, and how the thought of having to do it again was horrible. By the time I got home, even though I was convinced that I had failed, I had to look. I got the "old" good pop-up. On Wednesday, I kept checking to see if my results were available, and they were not. I checked the NY Office of the Professions website, and there was my name and my license number as a Registered Nurse!! I was ecstatic. I am grateful for this site for so many things -- study tips, essays about nursing, and just support in general. I was especially grateful last Monday for the PVT that I learned about on here. Good luck to everyone testing. Anyone who has done it knows how stressful it is. Be well!
