Questions for University of San Francisco (NOT ucsf) BSN students
Helloooo! I'm looking to transfer after the fall should all things work out/fingers crossed! I wanted to know if you were satisfied with the program and what were student's mean GPA's in the program? I'm well aware Nursing is hard, but I'm hearing horror stories from other students about their ADN & Calstate BSN programs, which is really worrying me.

Stanford and Lucille Packard RN Residency Program September 2012
Hi! Thanks for the info. I wanted to know if it was worth (please I know this question may sound stupid in the beginning) getting the BSN and completing a Nurse Residency program. Will a hospital be more likely to hire you? Than say specifically a new nurse grad from a AA/AS program? I'm asking because with the tuition hikes I'm re-considering my RN education route... Either that or anyone who has actually completed a Nurse Residency program and can easily (more easily) obtain a job? Can you also look for work in another state? What are the regulations with that? I hate this economy ( Basically, here is my personal concern. I want to do the critical care nursing, and everyone has told me completely different ways to get a position in the field. If it is best to hold out for the BSN, if no job prospects upon graduation then I'm willing to complete a Nurse Residency however only under the auspices it would grant me an actual job... Hope you can understand !!!

New Grad: Should I take Med/Tele job or hold out for ICU?
I am not yet an RN so please take that into consideration however if you are SURE you want to do ICU and can financially support yourself until the summer then please by all means go for it. I am taking my pre-reqs now and eventually want to get into critical care, however, I have sadly seen circumstances where a hospital (on a tight budget, I'm in California and as you know our economy is in the toilet), didn't let an RN transfer to the ICU (so the ICU dept. ended up hiring from elsewhere). Go for the dream, it's worth it and/or in the meantime search for other ICU places. If I were you, I would also talk to the director that has more or less promised you a position in her dept. again to either see what other steps you need to take or any other classes or certifications you can obtain in the meantime (i.e. ACLS/PALS if necessary). Good luck!!!

Saudi Arabia - Good Idea or Not
i know this is an old post, but you can bring in a bible for your own personal use. at this time you can't bring 900 bibles :) as it is a kingdom, they do not wish to have proselytizing. and please remember saudi women working in saudi make more money always than saudi men... in part to pay for their taxis. nowhere is perfect :)
