Going to Nursing School at an Older Age
Awwh thank you ! Just starting from scratch at 46 Well not scratch i have an LVN and 12 units that I can not use is hard But not impossible I do not regret being a stay at home mom I have a very well rounded teen age boy and he is an awesome kid. I think it may tke 3-6 yrs in a CC and a private seems o be anywhere from 100k to ?? Cant seem to get a straight answer on that and 100k is crazy. But its a BSN in 3 yrs start to finish. all prereqs included Im 99% sure Im headed back to school. And yes tutor is a great idea! I can find some LVN jobs but the money doesnt seem worth it. Oh I forgot to ask How long did it take you start-finish? Thank you for your possitive words

So how much with your prereqs done? Are there grants I hear yes and no. I guess its all so variable like nursing lol I did 12 units a few well more than 5 yrs ago so my anatomy/phys and micro dont even count and the fact that I have my LVN doesnt really help with BSN But in 3 years carreer insted of wondering at 48 What am I going to do? Im interested in laser/plastic surgery everyone i know seems to enjoy it and it does pay well. Nope Im not out to save the world But I am interested in good paying carreer I am a single mom at 46 have you talked to any grads?

Going to Nursing School at an Older Age
Oh these posts are just wondeful. Thank you all for sharring. I am 46 I have my LVN and went on to do micro and antam/phys . I stopped I got caught up in my life and raising my son as a single mother. I have had a few jobs in doctors offices but only part time, by choice. Now Im thinking I should be back in school, like most of us. My Question is do I start again with my prerequs because my 12 units have "expired" in the nursing field OR do I just go for excelerated BSN at WCC. 3yrs at 100 grand or Maybe 6 or so at GWC? I keep going back and forth. Anyone with same delema? I figure if i have a 5 yr plan School in 3 and 2 yrs of work to pay off loan?? Ahhh Help Im so overwhelmed Thanks for any and all input

Is West Coast University a good choice for me?
I am also looking into WCU I have my LVN lisence but I did not work as an LVN and forget so much of the field.. I even went on and took my anatomy/phy and micro but its been past the 5 yrs to receive credit. Im thinking of just starting over and doing the BSN . Im over 40, a single mother and need some more "security". The price tag is huge but I feel in 3 years Ill be set, at least some what. Im pretty sure you can negociate loan payments after you graduate. I have also seen some good posts this year about the school and feel if you are not a shy student you can get what you put into it. Still considering but I dont want to be in same spot 3 yr from now. Any thoughts from students doing well or AND students over 40 starting over and possibly a little scared or terrified... would be greatly appreciated
