Hi there! I graduated on May 4th. I haven't gotten my ATT yet. If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for you to get yours after graduation? By the way, I used Hurst. I had a cousin who graduated in December from nursing school and she used it too. She was successful the first time. Hope that helps!

I didn't show a credit check, but I also had written off credit card debt, and I also got the award. Now I'm really sad for those that didn't...because we obviously all need it if we were desperate enough to stalk this forum night and day. I didn't post much, but it got to the point I was checking it so much it was interfering with my studying...

Well I sure do know about Peay...my A&P professor is an alumnus and I know of at least one student from here that attends there. That's a pretty big school. Jackson State is (i think) the largest junior college in the state, but since there are no living quarters, nearly all of its students would be from West TN. My professor said that when he went to Austin Peay, they made signs at the football games that said "Show your Peay-ness"....heehee

I didn't ever see anything where my credit was checked, and I looked at all three bureaus. Keep faith! I received the initial email, a couple of others, but that's it. I was sure I got lost in the mix somewhere because none of my phone calls ever got returned, nor did any of my emails. I also got conflicting information every time I called...and I still got it. You will too, I know it.

My analyst is KH. I'm in West TN, and I got mine at 9:19 Central time.

Hey, take that Sept. 30th thing with a grain of Salt...Heck, it may turn out to be right (because the PDF guide does give that date as the very latest we'll be notified, I think)...but looking at last year's thread, we are WAY ahead of them and I have this feeling we'll be getting our letters much, much earlier. :w00t:

OK, so she wasn't quite as bad as Bon Qui Qui, but I felt like I was dealing with someone who lacked basic communication skills! Really, I was just trying to lighten the mood on the board...everyone seems so stressed, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't biting nails right now. Let me just say: Those people at HRSA's call center don't know baloney! Everyone gets a different answer every time. The one I got yesterday sounded like she was chewing gum and texting her boyfriend while she was talking to me. Do y'all remember the character "Bon Qui Qui" off of the MadTV skits? Sounded something like her. (Google a "Burger King" one--they're hilarious) I identified myself and asked her to clear up the tuition question. (My personal situation is that I attend a Community College where I have received a scholarship to cover my tuition and books. The good news is that I get Pell refunded to me. I don't know if every school operates in that way.) My question (and I think I knew the answer before I called) was "Can my school bill you for the tuition, and if it's already covered, can it be refunded to me?" And I explained that I had gotten another scholarship that would cover my tuition. So she smacks her gum and says, "So you don't want the HRSA scholarship then?" My heart fell to the floor. I almost dropped the phone. "Of COURSE I want it, it has a monthly stipend and an Other Reasonable Costs allowance paid directly to me!" Then she says, "Well why would you want that if you've won all these other scholarships and Pell?" I almost just hung up the phone. I reiterated to her that I DEFINITELY WANTED THE SCHOLARSHIP, and explained again the reasons why. "Ohhhhhhh, she said, "lemme go an aks." (it was pronounced exactly like that). I was afraid she'd tell someone I didn't want the scholarship or something, but she did come back and say, "Um, yeah...you can still keep this scholarship if you get it. It don't matter if you got other scholarships or not." That was good enough for me, and I didn't want to mess anything up, so I just hung up and resolved not to ever, ever call back unless it's a dire emergency or I call the analyst identified in the email I received directly. These call center employees are low-level peons and they just can't help it...they're not really informed. She also said it would be September 30th before we knew anything, and it sounded exactly like she was reading from the same manual we all have. I had to take an oval-shaped purple pill (NOT a Nexium) after that phone call (I have an Rx...it's how I've been coping). Here's a "Bon Qui Qui" sketch link... Hope this makes you all feel better! Be sure you've checked your spam....that's where mine was and I got it later than everyone else's too. If you think you might have cleared your spam, it wouldn't hurt to call HRSA and ask them to check and see and resend it if possible. Good luck! For what it's worth....I send out waves of prayer and love and hopefulness to everyone on this board. I sense a lot of desperation and exasperation....it's easy for us who've gotten emails to rejoice, but...let's pray and hope and cross our fingers for the ones who haven't yet...And for those of us who have gotten them? We might not get the award! It's not final...let's not forget that...the final decisions will be made and some will be lucky and some will not. Love to all...:redbeathe I know I won't rest at all until my yes or no answer comes in the mail!

My analyst's initials are KH, a female. I'm in TN. The analyst I got the second email (the one about not calling or emailing) was a male, initials AW.

Mine got into the spam folder and I just called them and asked them to resend it. You very, very likely got the email. Despite this email, I would definitely give them a call, because that email contained very pertinent documents that must be completed within about a week, or you won't get in! i got that email about 45 minutes ago, but i did get the initial email. it showed up a day later than everyone else's and in my spam! so i would take that as very good news.

Like I said earlier, I'm new to this thread, but I did go back and read through some previous years' posts, and it looks as if everyone who got the email ended up getting the scholarship, and it seems like I remember some who didn't receive an email, languished for months waiting for an answer and got notified through regular mail. So to those of you who haven't gotten anything yet, I just don't think there is any way they've sent out 500 emails in 24 hours. Anyone else not get their email 'til today? I got mine about 3:30 p.m. Central time.

For all you waiting on emails, don't give up! I didn't get mine until 3:26 p.m. Central time. I've been following this board (but not posting) since the beginning! I felt so sad and depressed that everyone else was getting notification and I didn't get any...til today! I'm in Tennessee, have an EFC of 0, and will be full-time in a two-year program. I had my stuff faxed in an hour later. A double-whammy for me today; the Senate extended unemployment benefits today for those who had them expire, so I'll get backpay for that as well. God has been good to me...no sooner than I had rejoiced over getting my unemployment back, I got this scholarship email! Please, y'all don't lose faith. :redbeathe

Hi, new to forum. I enter nursing school this fall! I've been reading up on all the HRSA Scholarship posts since I applied in the spring, but I haven't posted 'til now. I must say that I don't expect this to be a smooth process at all! If it took them 'til October to notify some recipients in years past, with less than 200 awardees...imagine how hard it's going to be for them to notify 500 by then! I will also agree with some of the other posters: those people answering the phone don't know crap. I get a different answer about everything any time I call. Honestly, I am hoping, praying, counting....on this scholarship. I'm a displaced worker, doing odd jobs with a family of four. I am in the first preference funding group. However, even though I know there is going to be a lot of bureaucratic red tape in the process, I know that around 500 people are going to be very, very happy! I hope I'm one of them, and I wish each and every one on this forum the best of luck!
