My understanding is it was the overweighted percentage of policy and law questions on the exam, according to the woman who spoke to us regarding the exam.

The administration at our school said that the reason they are changing the exam is because they are responding to The overwhelming surveys of test takers complaining that the test did not reflect what they learned in school.

I'm in my next to last semester in school and we were told the exam is changing in December 2019 to reflect what we actually learned in school (go figure). So I looked it up. Here's the info from the Fitzgerald website: ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health NP Certification Exam Update, Effective December 16, 2019 Q: I heard that there are upcoming changes to the ANCC Psychiatric-Mental Health NP (PMHNP) Certification Exam. On or before December 13, 2019, the current test content outline will be in effect. I think they are supposed to email us some places for us to go to that are approved by them. They are supposedly doing this soon... before our orientation. In my opinion I would wait to get the list of approved places, you wouldn't want to go somewhere and find out it is not approved by them.

Keep your head up and keep trying. I know a lot of folks, including myself, that took 3 times to finally get in. I'm not sure of any HESI practice places but they do have a lot of books you can find on Amazon.

Congrats to all that got in for Kingwood!!!! I noticed some people have had their background checks done already, I would like to know also how to go about getting them done before orientation.

I agree, I would go mad also! I worked in San Francisco and lived in the bay area for 9 years. It's gorgeous there, too bad it's so freaking expensive. Houses START at $450,000 for a 2 bedroom old house in the bay area. You can get a mansion for that money here LOL

That is why I moved here from Cali. (Well, that and my family lives here LOL) But I've been here a year now and when I was in Cali, none of my friends were getting in they all said it was a lottery system and the waiting list for other schools was 3 years long at least! I said forget that! Congo Rats, Fabjulev!! :yeah::yeah:

And don't lose hope on getting in as an alternate, you could be pleasantly surprised!

Hi guys I have important information for CyFair students! I went to drop off my signed letter to the nursing dept. and the woman gave me a packet of papers that you can find here Nursing Forms and told me that they are "trying" to get people to get these started early and have them completed when you come to orientation on Dec 2nd. She just said some people wait till the last minute to do these and it delays registration. So if you can get a jump on these forms, GREAT! Oh and background checks will be announced later.
