Advice on finding clinical sites and preceptors
Those are awesome suggestions, and I am definitely planning on calling everywhere I can! I am just so concerned because I would regret not being able to finish my program just because no one would take on a student :/ Its my biggest fear upon entering my MSN. Its why I wanted to try to start early! I am adding those to my list though, so thank you for the suggestions!

Advice on finding clinical sites and preceptors
Hi everyone! I am about to start an FNP program in a few weeks, and by mid-next year we will be starting clinicals. We have to find our own preceptors and sites. We need half of our hours in womens health and pediatrics, and the other half is up to the student. I have a quick question for anyone who has had success in the past finding their own clinical sites. Do you have any advice on how to find and gain preceptors? Were there any techniques that you used in communicating with offices? I don't know exactly where to start or how and would really appreciate what anyone has to say. Thank you!

MDC Fall 2011 =)
Hi everyone!! I just have a question for those of you who applied to both the accelerated and the generic. I applied to generic, but in order to apply to the accelerated, is it absolutely necessary for you to hold a bachelors degree in something else? or can anyone apply to that program too?

Pre-Nursing student with the usual concern: not making it into Nursing school :(
Alright, I'm new to the site, so please bare with me. :] I'm currently a pre-nursing student with three pre reqs left (anatomy 2, Microbio, and nutrition) before I apply to Nursing schools around here (Miami) next semester when I'm finishing up. My main goal is FIU which I hear is insanely competitive, but I'm applying to several. I'm freaking out because I am deathly afraid I won't make it! With stats like these listed below, I want to know what you guys think my chances are of getting accepted on my first try at applying. :] Please and thank you very much. I really do appreciate it. If you have any constructive advice of any kind, that also has NOTHING to do with my chances of getting into nursing school, that's welcomed as well 3.5 cumulative GPA, 3.8 sciences and math GPA No repeats, and only 2 B's in my prereqs (maths). CNA license 60+ hours volunteering at local hospital Bilingual (spanish and english) Transferring from a community college with an A.A. degree with over 80 credits done (extra credits come from me originally starting college as a different major, then switching into nursing).
