  1. Do you guys know if they give us the itouch for clinicals or do we need to go buy it ourselves?
  2. I also need to take out loans, not just for the program but also for living expenses too. I have no idea about the process either, because this is my first time with loans also. I do not even know if I should go through a bank to get a loan or someone the school recommends. Maybe that sounds like a dumb quetion but this is all new to me. I am not even sure someone will give me enough of a loan to cover all my expenses. Can you get different loans from different places?
  3. Yes I had my degree complete but I did only graduate this past May. When are you planning on applying?
  4. I did not have to take the GRE's because my GPA was higher than a 3.2 My major was biochemistry and I have been a nurse aide for the past 2 years so I do have some experience, however you do not need any clinical hours to be accepted. So don't let that hold you back if you have no nursing experience! :)
  5. Yes CPinPhilly it was only a couple days for me too... but remember, they do not even look at any of your materials until they receive them all... so get those recc's in asap :)
  6. Congrats Dimples!!! Niki is actually extremely nice and starts out the interview by asking you if you have any questions for her, so make sure you come prepared with questions about the program, finanical aid, housing, or whatever else you want to ask. Then she goes over the pre reqs you have completed or the ones you still need to complete. Finally she asks you about 5 questions ranging from why you want to be a nurse to why jefferson is a good fit for you. Dont worry tho, the questions are really relaxed, and as nervous as I was going into the interview (and believe me I was!!!) Niki made me feel very comfortable and relaxed. The dress is also casual so no suit required! Good luck, you will be fine!!
  7. If you are taking any of the pre reqs deff try to get a reference from one of those classes. Otherwise you can use a boss, not co workers tho because it must be professional. I work as a nurse assistant so I used my nurse manager as a reference and that was perfectly fine! Good luck :)
  8. did anyone who was accepted still waiting for their acceptance letters in the mail??
  9. congrats to you too!!!! Are you planning on living on campus or off campus?
  10. I just got an email from Niki not even an hour ago that I was accepted!!! So go check your email everyone! Good luck :)
  11. I think my interview went well!! But anything is possible I guess!! Keep me updated if you guys hear anything!
  12. so the wait begins.. i had my interview yesterday and Niki said about 2 weeks.. its killing me already lol Good luck everyone :)))
  13. I live in Reading, PA ... If I get accepted at Thomas Jefferson I would consider having 1 roommate but no more than that. I went through the whole roommate thing at my university so just 1 roommate is all I want. Otherwise I would consider finding off campus housing but it is very expensive to live in that section of philly.
  14. I am about an 1 and 15 mins west of philly .. so commuting is not an option.
  15. Thanks mlms!! how are you enjoying the program so far? also, do you live in campus housing or do u have an off-campus apartment?
  16. Thank you!! I will let you know how it goes on wednesday!!
  17. Congrats AKalaskabound!! :) If you dont mind me asking, where did you get your undergrad degree and what was ur GPA? I have my interview this wednesday and I am incredibly nervous!! It seems like I cant focus on anything. lol. But I attended an open house back in June and met Niki and I remember her saying that theres like 400 apps for 100 spots. YIKES! But hey an interview is the first step! Hope you hear something soon!!!
  18. They received all my materials September 2nd. I found out about my interview sept. 7th.
  19. awesome!!! let me know how your interview goes on Monday if you dont mind! yes NYU is super expensive, but their deadline isnt till march, so I figure if I dont get in at Thomas Jefferson or Drexel then ill give NYU a shot! Good luck tomorrow :)))
  20. Hello!! Yes i applied for the spring of 2011 and I have an interview next wednesday! have you heard anything yet?
  21. Sorry for all the grammar and spelling errors but that was typed from my phone .. Grr lol
  22. All of my pre reqs except nutrition and sociology came from my 4 year university. It's a small school so u doubt anyone has hears of it. It's called Alvernia University. The other 2 pre reqs are being taken at a community college.
  23. Hello doni718 ! It's fine if you have classes to finish up in the spring.. I remember them saying as long as they are done by June you are fine and most spring classes are over by then anyway! I'm actually kind of happy thar our apps won't be looked at until after the deadline. I don't know about everyone else but now I'll find out my decisions for all the schools I have applied to right around the same time.. Hopefully it will be a good early Christmas present :) Good luck to everyone!
  24. thanks nolibsdan!! I found the session I attended in June to be very helpful and informative too. So I called drexel this morning and admissions transferred me to Tina, one of the people who is in charge of offering admission and would also be our academic counselor, and I explained the situation to her and she said she was sorry we were given the wrong info and in fact they will not start reviewing applications until after the Oct. 15 deadline. She said beginning Nov. 1st she will begin to make offers and will continue for the next 4-6 weeks after that. So the wait continues .. ughh!!!
