Hi, I live in OC CA and have about 5 months left of LVN school. Before I decided to spend alot of time and money for this I did some research on the job market for LVNs. Not only do labor statistics show 16% growth for LVNs over the next 10 years in CA, but there seems to be a ton of postings for jobs in this position. Contrary to the above information though, I hear so many things about how tough it is for new grads to obtain employment right now? Can anyone give me some honest advice about the market these days and perhaps how to separate myself from the pack with no experience. I am class President, honors, and perfect attendance thus far. Hi all! I'm in the middle of LVN school and have heard if you obtain a phlabotomy license as well, this would mean another $2-$3 an hour right out of school because the employer is getting sort of a 2 for 1 deal? (not having to hire a phlabotomist). I live in Orange County CA. Does anyone have any specific knowledge on this or if it is worth getting the phlabotomist license when it comes to more pay? Thanks!!

I am an LVN here is Southern California- Orange County in particular. There seems to be a lot of LVN positions available these days at the Mighty Kaiser Permanente. Can anybody out there tell me what the pay is Per Diem and Regular employee with beni's? It seems pretty top secret. All I can find anywhere after scouring the internet is pay grades of "G25" and "G26" for LVNs. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just started LVN school and find this to be frustrating. I have found dozens and dozens of LVN positions on indeed.com and also craigs list. I live in Fountain Valley, CA. I'm surprised you are having a tough time landing a job. I wish you the best.

Hi all, I just started at LVN school a couple weeks ago. I could only find LVN wages on our website here going up to 2008. Can anyone tell me what the going hourly wage is for LVNs particularly in Orange County or Southern Ca. A friend of mine knows an RN at UCI that says LVN pay is 16/hr. I hope that's not true. Thanks in advance for any input on this one!
