  1. Thanks! I really appreciate all the quick responses! I assume I'll have a better understanding of how long it will take me personally once I get started-I'm just glad to hear that "the balls in my court"...:) I'm one of those type A, anxious with outstanding tasks type people-hopefully that annoying trait will benefit me here!

I took the OCN last year before this book came out, and they were officially not recommending the "green book" and study guide. I only studied the green book study guide and went to the 2 day class and was ok after working in oncology for 3.5 years. I felt like nothing I studied from these were on the test, BUT that my enriched understanding of the material helped me think through and answer the questions if that makes sense. Thanks for the post b/c I've been telling coworkers to wait until the new book comes out to take it since during my exam period they were not endorsing any study material! Its good to have a review, I'd hate to mislead them!
  3. Don't worry-its not unusual! I fainted twice in nursing school and once on my floor as a new nurse! I was just talking to coworkers last night about when I was gowned up watching an arterial (not doing, just watching it) during a crazy busy time and passed out! I felt so bad but they thought nothing of it, that was four years ago, I think you kinda learn what makes you woozy and deal with it different. I once almost passed out once when a patient was telling me about their life challenges because it was traumatic to me. Now I can take charge in a code and regularly care for a patient while they are passing and am able to comfort family and keep it together...until I am out of their sight BUT I still have had 3 or 4 times that I found myself woozy and had to step aside for a second. Good coworkers get it and remind you not to lock your knees and to breathe! It has nothing to do with your competency, just a physiological response, give yourself time to adjust, you are still getting used to your new norm! Good luck!
  4. I have seen this topic before, but ALL the posts seem to be from people who finished the program before spring 2014. Can anyone speak to the rumor that you CANNOT finish in 6mos (the RN to BSN)? I have 30units to complete-I'm not asking if I am able to complete it timewise so much as i'm asking if they put roadblocks up that make it ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to logistically do so? I have heard if you plan accordingly, you can avoid these roadblocks, but are there some hard rules that make it impossible, I'd hate to complete all but one course just because they made me wait...anyone a RECENT graduate/student who can speak to this? I really appreciate your help!
  5. Since so many of us applied at multiple campuses, whatever spots we don't take will be open for someone else now --so there's still some wiggle room for everyone once confirmations are done...Good luck! :)
