  1. Hi everyone, i just found out that I got into City Tech Nursing program for the Fall 2017. I am so nervous and excited at the same time. I was wondering if anyone is selling their text books or if anyone has any advice to give? Any helpful websites that I can start preparing myself now. It's hard for me to remember things and I do need extra time to study, therefore wanted to get a heads up. Thanks in advance Val
  2. Thank you so much for support. After failing nursing i feel like i have been through hell. After weeks of research to get back into the nursing program and looking into LPN and finding any way possible, i came across radiology. and then it clicked that i would actually enjoy doing radiation therapy. since you still help people and you see the same people over and over giving you a chance to make some difference in their life. so then i spend another week getting all the info on radiation therapy. And i actually like it, it is deff worth a try. I just want to say thank you so much for people like you. Who encourage and provide with valuable information. I wish you all the best. And thank you again.
  3. I am sorry to take your time regarding this none nursing question. But I am so confused and I really hope at least someone knows anything about this, because there is no information online at all. I want to apply to school of radiation therapy. i read so much about it, about schools and about programs. There is only 5 schools in NY that offer the programs. 3 of which are closed for September. and the other 2 are $13000 per year. I have a question regarding one in particular . New York Methodist hospital, center for Allied health education, their program is $13000 a year and they don't care about GPA. first come first get in system as long as you hand in all documents. Why other programs charge $4000 per semester and look at GPA and this one does not .. it sounds fishy to me. Does anyone have any information on that school. Or know any other schools for RADIATION therapy not radiology. thank you for your time. the schools i found are : NYM center for allied health education manhattan college in bronx nassau community college memorial sloan- kettering cancer center SUNY downstate the first two are very expensive while for other 3 there is a waiting list also if anyone knows what are ARRT and JRCERT and are they reliable to look into.
  4. Thank you for advice once again. Does anyone know any good LPN program in new york city? ( 5 boroughs) I looked through some online, but they all sound good. As for CNA, I was thinking of going for CPCT or Certified Clinical Medical Asst. Isnt it better and more advanced?
  5. thank you so much for all reply
  6. hello, i failed nursing in community college. as it is well known no other community college will take me back and private schools are not so egger either, since my gpa dropped. i posted a thread about my situation and got great advice. thank you. now i have two questions. should i go for lpn and then bridge it to rn? and if i will do the bridge, are the schools still going to care that i failed nursing before? or should i go for phlebotomy, in order to work in the medical field and stay in my college raising my gpa and trying to readmit to rn? i am afraid that there is no guarantee and a lot of time wasted if i will stay in college and every semester trying to readmit. also there is not much i can take towards my major since all my pre req are done. i know it is based on my choice and preference. but i hit the bottom and do not know where to even go from here on. thank you for any advice. my previous post regarding me failing nursing and my situation. > https://allnurses.com/ny-nursing-programs/failed-nursing-first-482172.html
  7. Thank you, I know kingsborough community college offers it starting june 16, 2010. But I heard its 3 month program. Ill look into York College if the program is shorter. But that doesnt sound right. Since they are all CUNYS they should be the same time frame.
  8. Thank you for all your help! If i will do LPN and bridge it to RN , they wont look at the fact that i failed before?. I am not sure how the whole bridge process works?
  9. Hello, I want to take courses in phlebotomy during summer. I am currently trying to get back into nursing program. But while I will be in school I want to work in the medical field. Would you be able to recommend good school for phlebotomy. And is it worth spending time on it, since anyway as a nurse i will be licensed to do that. I just feel like getting back into nursing program might take long time and finishing it as well. Thanks for all ideas in advance.
  10. Would you recommend any good private schools?
  11. Hello Everybody, I attended College of Staten Island CUNY and got accepted into nursing program. I was in there for one semester and failed with 61 when 75 was passing. The course included clinical and now that i try to apply to other CUNYS no one wants to accept me at all. They didn't even look at my grades, they say no without any acceptions. I reapplied to College of Staten Island but they only take 10 people out of everyone who failed. Since i got 61 i doubt they will take me in at all. What should I do? I know why i failed, i didnt think it would be that hard. Its completely different from other courses. Its very hard to think critical. And i really want to be a nurse. I live in brooklyn, willing to travel to SI or manhattan. What are my options now? Thank you.
