Abnormal Psychology Nashville
Or any of the local community colleges - I did mine at Nashville State online and it was very straight forward and easy to complete.

Current Accelerated Nursing Belmont Student or incoming Class of Spring 10
You have to make above a 76 in each class, with your overall semester gpa above 3.0 - and the gpa scale depends on the class. For instance, you can make a 90 in a class and that's considered a B+ which is a 3.3. I believe if you get below a 3.0 in semester, it is a case by case type scenario about moving on. If you do get below a 76 in a class (or have below a 76 test average for that class) it is considered failing, so you have to retake the class. Not sure if you have to retake the whole semester or what, but it would throw off your timing with the program for sure. I have heard rumors of people not moving on with their group because of classes/personal issues, but I don't know their personal situations. I would say just don't get in the case to where you have to find out what happens.

belmont bsn accelerated program
It is pretty rigorous, but really depends on the semester. Since it is only 4 semesters straight through, one of those will be in the summer, which means it will be condensed and even more time consuming. Clinicals take up a lot of time, but so do the classes/projects so time management is an absolute must. It's definitely not unbearable, just think of it as a marathon and not a sprint. The instructors over all are really good; you will have some that you absolutely love, and some that you don't care for. Each teacher has their own style, but all are very approachable and willing to help out in anyway they can. Your schedule depends on the semester you are in. Be prepared to be in a class, lab, or clinical 5 days a week. You will most likely be M-F, but I do know of one or two Peds clinical groups having to go on Saturdays due to clinical space. If this is the case, you will have Sunday + one other day off during the week so you only have 5 days of classes.

Soft scrubs for a tall skinny male=don't exist
I rock Landau top and Cherokee bottoms. Landa has a tall option which seems to work for the most part.

Getting an associates degree when you already have a Bachelors Degree in another fiel
I have a business degree as well, so before I went back I was asking the same thing. With the way the industry is going, I would HIGHLY recommend sucking it up and getting a BSN vs an ADN. I found an accelerated program, so it is only 16 months straight through - it ends up being quicker than getting an ADN. There are a lot of these programs around the country, so I would just look for one in your area.

I only took them once, so I do not know. You can talk to their admissions office, they are extremely helpful.

belmont bsn accelerated program
The cost just went up, but I think it around $12,000 a semester for just classes. Then you have to account for books, gear, cost of living, etc. I don't know where you are looking, but this program has like 8 or 9 clinicals - anytime you see a 5 hour class, that is a clinical. Unlike other programs, you have a clinical you very first semester. And the accelerated program is for zero nursing experience with a previous bachelors in anything - we have people with business, biology, political science, psychology, etc. And yes, once you graduate you will be able to take the NCLEX to become an RN. I know they look highly on prereqs, so I'm not sure how that one C will look. SAT and ACT don't matter much since you should already have another bachelors - I'm not even sure I sent mine.

belmont bsn accelerated program
The program is one of (if not the) best in the area, and I'm not just saying that since I am in it. The facilities are all extremely nice (less than 4 years old), and lab sizes are small - anywhere from 6-12. The teachers are extremely amazing and very helpful. They all want each student to do their absolute best and will go to all ends in order to do so. They do accept minorities, but I will say that the whole school is like 90% white, so take that as you will. I took my pre-reqs at Nashville State and they transfered no problem. I struggle a little with my AP, but I think that is just me because I have a classmate who took hers at NSCC and she does better than I do on that stuff. Overall, I would say if you can afford it/want to go that much in debt, it is worth it. We hear from our teachers and from hospital staff that Belmont students are well prepared to enter the workforce (and they have a very very high NCLEX pass rate). The biggest downfall is the price, but there is no other true accelerated program in Nashville, so I just sucked it up and took the debt.

MALE NURSES
So I haven't started my program yet, but I did receive a minority in nursing scholarship for being a male. I mean that does seem a little ridiculous, but the scholarship was awesome and much needed so I will gladly accept it haha.

Belmont Accelerated BSN - Spring 2011
It is hard to say what they are exactly looking for, but it seems like you are in the same boat I was in and I got accepted. I would second the notion of turning it in ASAP. I dropped my stuff off on July 1st (I live like 4 blocks from campus so it was easier than mailing) and I heard back in the middle of last week. I think now that they got the ball rolling you should expect to hear back in 4-6 weeks like the site says.

Belmont Accelerated BSN - Spring 2011
@AKalaskabound I actually got my letter of acceptance the same day I posted that, so I should have gone home at lunch to check the mail before I posted haha. Looks like we will be classmates haha.

Belmont Accelerated BSN - Spring 2011
Just wondering if anyone out there has applied to Belmont's Spring 2011 Accelerated BSN program? Have you guys heard back yet? It's been over the 4-6 week period and I'm starting to get even more nervous than before.

Current Accelerated Nursing Belmont Student or incoming Class of Spring 10
To anyone still checking this - what kind of GPA did you guys who got accepted? My previous undergrad was 3.19 and I just got 2 A's on prereqs which brought it up to around a 3.22 which is what Belmont will see. Do you guys thinks this will work based on you or your classmate's GPAs?

What's it like to live in Nashville?
Heard from the husband of a nurse at Vandy saying they do pay the lowest out of all hospitals in the area. I have also heard if you are looking to use it to launch your career, that hospitals around the country know vandy so it looks good on your resume. Cost of living in Nashville is VERY cheap compared to other parts of the country. When I first graduated I got a 2 bedroom apartment that was 1200 sq ft for $850 in Bellevue (about 15 mins west from Vandy). It all depends on where you want to live, but even the places close to Vandy are inexpensive compared to other cities in the US. Traffic does suck, but that is if you are going north or south towards downtown in the morning, and away at night.
