  1. Wow. That sucks. Hopefully, you get in your first try.
  2. I have no idea what that means. I took courses at Cerritos before transferring to UCR, and went back to ECC for the nursing pre-reqs, so I don't want to take another class at a different college because I'm tired of getting all those transcripts. But, again, I have to take it at ECC to meet the 12 units for my loans.
  3. I think it was just the waiting list, and there were rumors they were trying to get rid of the list. I have never heard of the point system before.
  4. No, I did not have to re-apply. I hope you're taking microbio during the summer because you're supposed to have all pre-reqs (except N145) completed before you turn in your application. I was planning on taking Intro to Pharma this summer at ECC, but because I already have a degree and cannot get financial aid without being a fulltime student, they only allow so many classes and I must take that in Fall to meet 12 units.
  5. You're going to apply at ECC? Where else? There's always rumors about the process; the last I heard was that they are adopting a lottery system as well. It sometimes seem like even the counselors don't really know what's going on. A friend and I applied at the same time, but she didn't get in. She wasn't invited to take the TEAS test. Fortunately for her, she got lucky and got in at Harbor for Spring 2010. The reason I asked about N48 is because I just looked back at the TEAS invitation because somebody on the board asked about the email, and I noticed that they do require it. I do, however, recall someone mentioning during the orientation that it's not required but you should take it if you feel that you need it. I guess I should just ask them directly, but I don't want to feel like I wasn't listening...lol.
  6. I'm going back to school for my second career as an RN. If it's everything you thought it would be, what's the problem? I'm just curious because I don't want to run into the same problem.
  7. I became a CNA couple of years ago just to see if I'd like the nursing field. CNA's are underpaid and do a whole lot of work. No way I'm working as one, lol, but just because you are overworked and tired of running around doesn't necessarily mean you'd hate being a nurse. I would suggest going to school for about a year to become an LVN and then decide on your future. Nobody likes working as a CNA. But this is just a suggestion because only you know yourself.
  8. I was one of very fortunate people that got in, and I have a quick question about N48. Is Dosage Calculations a requirement or did I hear it mentioned that you should take it if you think you need it?
  9. I just got myself into the ECC program for 2010 Fall. My last prereq was taken in Summer of 2009 and applied to Harbor College and ECC the following Fall. The only reason I applied to these two was because an ECC counselor told me that if I don't get in in Spring 2010, I would only have to wait one semester. Harbor is lottery based so I figured if I didn't get into Harbor, I'll just go to ECC. It was a huge gamble because you don't want to rely on anybody to tell you exactly how it's going to be. If your GPA is well above 3.0 you shouldn't even worry about the TEAS. It's pretty easy.
