  1. you were actually right about the course number: WR 227 (not WR 224). i looked it up on ocne's website. just thought i'd let you know you weren't so out of it when you wrote it. ;-)
  2. i'm done with stats, but i haven't taken WR 227 yet... i didn't know that was a requirement for the bachelor's. do you happen to know if that kind of info is anywhere online? i'd also like to find out more about how financial aid works for the nursing program. lots of questions... i'm actually taking an intensive spanish class (first year) at psu this summer. i don't think i need it for the bachelor's since i took two years of spanish in high school, but i'd like to eventually become fluent.
  3. i'm in. i definitely need an a & p refresher and bocci ball would be fun! let me know when and where. p.s. i make a mean guacamole. ;-)
  4. i didn't know there was a "fall 2010 pcc" thread. i'll have to hop on over there. sounds fun! regarding my screen name... i just think they're cute. not sure i'm ready for one as a pet though. good luck finding a home for him/her!
  5. i'm going with pcc. the much shorter/cheaper commute makes all the difference for me. but mhcc's program looks good, i gotta say...
  6. andie74, i completely agree that everyone has a unique personal situation that plays heavily into the nursing school decisions they make. it's great to see so many people in this forum really taking the time to think their decisions through. there are so many options and schools, and it feels a little mind boggling at times. sounds like your main priority is finishing as quickly as possible because of your family and desire to move to seattle... and now the ohsu option is making things a little more complicated. good luck with whatever you choose. and no matter what, you know you really tried to make the best decision. sounds like either one will be great! my main priority is a solid, thorough education for as little money as possible. i'm not in a huge hurry to get it done, although sooner would be better. i'm more concerned about feeling as prepared as possible when i actually start on the job... and i don't want to have bundles of debt at the end of it. i'm a cheapskate through and through! i think i'm going to go with the pcc/ohsu ocne option. if i lived closer to mhcc i'd probably go there, but it's just not worth the commute for me. haircut7b, thanks for the info regarding the transition over to ohsu. i didn't realize there were two different ways to combine the community college and ohsu programs. i'll have to do more research to decide which would work best for me. did you find out much about the difference in cost between the two options? is there a website that has this information? seems like there should be...
  7. andie74, i agree wholeheartedly with your advice. however, i thought i saw on another thread that you got accepted to both pcc and linfield, and you're leaning toward linfield. sounds like you're deciding between linfield and ohsu actually. just wondering why you decided NOT to attend pcc's ocne program (and finish with a BSN from OHSU). i'm not questioning your decision... just wondering if i'm missing something because i'm having a hard time deciding myself.
  8. i think andie74 and i were psychically tapped into each other for a moment there... :).
  9. but the beauty of the OCNE programs is that you're automatically admitted to the OHSU RN-to-BSN program. one additional year of online courses at OHSU will give you that BSN and you don't even have to go to the trouble and stress of applying to OHSU. it may take a little longer, but i'd guess that it's cheaper than a BSN program at linfield and you still have the option of getting a job as soon as you finish your associates at the community college.
  10. hi everyone, i'm new to this forum, but i already love it. i got accepted into mhcc and pcc, and now i'm trying to decide which one i want. originally, pcc was my top pick because i did all my pre-reqs there and it's closer to my home, but now i'm wondering about the overall quality of the two programs. training? instructors? organization? clinicals? anyone have anything to say about any of it? i know most of us haven't experienced either program firsthand so it's mostly speculation, but i'm open to any information out there. hopefully, this won't turn into a "my school is better than yours!" battle. just looking for constructive comments. thanks! and congrats to everyone who got accepted/waitlisted!
