I am not sure about transfer credits, I have my bsn and am doing the msn. From what I have read here it apparently has not been an issue with some schools applying for post masters programs. I do know that some schools want a higher than 3.0 for acceptance, so that would be something to consider. The only sure way to know is to contact ECU for their recommendation. Good luck! On facebook there is wgu group--general discussion group, can ask around on there about transfer credits, but the RN to MSN group is closed to only those already enrolled, I tried to join the group literally 2weeks early and the leader of the group was really a jerk about it...good luck!

I was referring to the scholarship 'essay's' all I can think is that I can answer that question in three sentences(name that tune, lol). I would love to qualify for a few of the scholarships so I don't have to take out loans, but have no idea what they are looking for, argh!!! :-)

How did you go about writing the 'essay's' on the application form? Any advice or suggestions? Thank you!

I am starting the MSN in leadership, hopefully in June:-) I have my bsn, so will be doing the MSN only piece. Have you started already? I worked/lived in Raleigh are several years ago! Nice area:-)

My daughter was born with CBG at 6. Took over 24 hours to get it up to 40, was in nicu due to this. I have been working an started not feeling well and mine was in the 30's with mild sx. Don't think that at 7 could maintain that long without permanent damage.

I already have my BSN, I have checked into various school and was wondering how the masters classes are working? I don't want to take forever to complete the degree:-) I noticed that they have several classes, but lower credits/class. how many papers/class? what kind of assignments are being prescribed? Thank you for any insight!

I live in NC and I have 17 years experience and it took me over a year to find a job! I am appalled that nursing schools continue to push "nursing shortage" when most of the new grads are having a hard time. Most of this is because of continual budget cuts! Reimbursement are not what they use to be! Most areas have a community college or university that has a nursing program. So that has decreased needs, those that were going to retire have not been able to due to economic reasons. The positions that were constantly being floated With people in and out are not available due to people are not moving. The nurse managers know That it may take 2-4 weeks to train an experienced nurse rather than hire a new grad that may take months, it has a lot to do with economy! Good luck and you may have to look at non- hospital options.

I have been a nurse for over 17 years, i have worked in a myriad of places and areas within nursing. I am wanting to do an online NP program, just so that I can work it around working nights, 2 kids, and a husband. I know that we are all going to have to make sacrifices for me to accomplish my goal, but I want to know for real, how difficult is it? I have never really had to study when I take classes. I have taken advanced Organic Chemistry classes, was a lab assistant for three semesters in Org. I am OCD, but not out of control:lol2: I just want to have someone lay it out there for me, i don't want to kid myself, or get myself all worked up! I already have some preceptors lined up, I said I was OCD, lol! I really appreciate any input. Oh I am really focusing on ETSU's RODP. Thanks to all that help:yeah:

My pick would be to do the BSN, it will save you a lot of time in the long run. If you decide to get your BSN after you do the ADN, then you will have to take those same 10 classes, and another years worth of classes in an RN-BSN program. It will be a waste of your time, even if you think that you will never get your BSN, eventually to do something, someone will require it. Save the head ache and just do it, plus look at your time, wear and tear on vehicle, etc. The other thing is that most college's will overlook your past if you are currently doing better. I would talk with the department head at the university and see what can be done to increase your chances. It never hurts to ask, sometimes all they want is a letter stating why you did so poorly before. I know that when I applied to an ADN program, my friend who had been attending a university, applied at the CC and her university, she got in the university, but not the CC. A lot of times, it is more competitive at the CC level, for a multitude of reasons. Most people think that it is easier at a CC, and it is really not. Good Luck!
