well that's not what i've heard from nurses who came from st thomas one 5 yrs and the other 25yrs bc of the pay difference and plus i know cause i work there and have friends who work at st thomas. also maybe that .50-1.00 makes a diffence to someone to live off of and to do things they've always wanted to do.
everyone seems to think vandy is the lowest paying hospital in nashville but they're really not! i work there and new grad in the ortho is $18.50 which is the same for new grad in the cardiac unit at st thomas. i work with two nurses who came from st thomas that say they left there because vandy pays more and the diffs are also more
actually vanderbilt isn't the lowest paying hospital i work there and the new grad nurses make $18.50/hr in some units and the new grad nurses in the oncology unit make $20/hr. i have a friend who works in the cardiac unit at st thomas and the new grads there make $18.50. i work with someone who came from workin 25yrs at st thomas b/c vandy paid more and the shift diffs are more at vandy and vandy pays prn nurses more than st thomas too
