  1. I agree that CGFNS is a weird organization. If you are meeting a problems that doesnt accredit your units youd earned, one piece of advice, take or pursue a BSN curriculum. In america there are many courses/degrees in Nursing. It is very conflicting during evaluation if it is has to be accredited. Plus if your did not earned your nursing course in US with other form of education, chances of organization not to accept. Because BSN is the only course that is really recognized by the CGFNS, US, Canada, Europe, Saudi, Australia or all countriues or any agencies. That's why filipino nurses are leading in importing from Philippines. Because it is fit and apt in rendering care to the patients. And one thing, the products of this curriculum has emphasized more in functions of collaboration with other health practitioners. What could be the reason why in your case with the CGFNS? I hope i can give u an information that's why CGFNS fails to accrredit certain units.
  2. A normal person should bath daily.... If i were a parents will bath / let bath my kid routinely. It feels really good when someone is clean. No "odors", no flies will fly over you. It is odd not to bath a child in a day. One of the users of this Nursing Discussion suggested the use of eucerin lotion and elidel cream. Pls. look those in yahoo search. you will find which is not good for your child's dry skin. If condition doesnt improve or worsen, pls consult a help of a specialist. I dont want my child to grow who doesnt do personal hygiene. It is odd. Well, that's only my view. You are free to react.
  3. Im also a nurse from other country, i was advised not to accept a job offering a salary lower than $7/hour (whether a nurse or not) to any parts of the world. In US territory, an RN is receiving more than >$20/hour(probably at hospital settings)... Yeah, some poeple are unscrupulous. But one some read carefully the content eventhough the reader does not speak fluently. This will be his/her only guardian from trickery. It is true also that some are not good in english, communication may be mistransmitted that may lead to a further threat/burden. The TSE/TWE is a must. In on of the theory the General Adaptation theory, one/nurse must adopt to his environment, and so therefore, language may too... Before those nurse make a move ,that do not know that not only CGFNS should be taken in order to work in US, they must first accept the consequences have have been into. Or if they already know the trickery may be possible, they should have been anticipate it. THey must study englich language before accepting the job. Anyway, CGFNS may serve as a passport. If thewy do not pass in other exams. They can also work as a janitor, waiter in a fastfood. It is a good job with a good salary. Within two years you can buy car or maybe buy a house. 5. :uhoh21: the greatest pain that i ever seen in hospital is the pain felt by the mother seeing her newborn child dying and hungering for life, and finally seeing her newborn dead. i May not made a mistake but the personnel did. The child already clinging for breath. I notified the nurse and nurse notified the doctor. THe doctor came too late. Then he is too late to revive the child. The baby had already jitteriness and having spasm all over the body, and epineprhine was injected. But no effects occur. THen the doctor intubated but still no impprovements. Then finally, CPR was employed and furtherly no improvements. THe mother witness all the suffering of her baby until death. The mother was crying. I feel guilty about it, if only i were a doctor with knowledge and skills i will do to help the infant in order to ease the pain of the mother. i interviewed her, she said it is just like im dead. sorry for wrong grammar.
  6. Well. you will not be held liable for those actions you have done. The clinical instructor will be, she must supervise her students on all activities/procedures to be carried out by her students. Here on Philippines(based on books), if the student committed a mistakes, the clinical will answer all the possible liabilities. But good thing, it never happened to you CI.
