    Starting pre-req this summer

Hello! I'm planning on starting my pre requisites in the fall. I have a boat load of classes to take. It seems like most of you are taking some classes online. Is it cheaper than taking it at a community college? These are the classes that I have to take, can someone please let me know which ones are easy enough to take online? A&P 1, 2 Chemistry (must take this in a classroom setting LOL) Microbiology Statistics Develeopmental Psychology
  2. I was one of the many who got laid off, so I was personally affected by the economy, but they say its slowly getting better.:yeah:I'm currently working on my resume and once it's done, dropping my resume off at different offices is definitely on my agenda. I know several estheticians who had a hard time finding a job that required a lot more experience in treatments that were not covered while they were in school. Those who went to work immediately after completing the program had connections. The instructors sell this field to you like it's the best thing since sliced bread.:rotfl: The "loan forgivenss" doesn't so bad, definitley something to keep in mind. Do you plan on going into an area of nursing that will allow you to utilize your esthetician license?
  3. Thanks for the info, I will be sure to check it out! In my state the Esthetics program is 600hrs and of course you would want to take additional classes like microderm, oxygen, etc. The more you know the easier it will be to land an interview without having connections. My interest is medical cosmetics, so I'm hoping that becoming an RN will make me more desireable. I honestly don't see why it wouldn't, but I could be wrong. I'm still doing my research, but so far it doesn't seem like such a bad choice. I know that being just an esthetician will be a huge pay cut for me, so either I continue to follow through with what I've always wanted to do or go back to finance. Hopefully someone with helpful information can shed light on this subject. Good luck!
  4. REALLY??? Hitman, you do not know my SITUATION. If it were that easy for me to do I would have no problem doing it!!!
  5. oh, your an esthetician as well! Yes, i know exactly what you mean, i havent started looking for a job yet, but from the job postings i've seen it doesnt seem that easy especially since i have no desire to work in a spa. i would love to work in a plastic surgeons or dermatologist office. any website suggestions? Do you know any RN Estheticians who are already working in the field? Would love to know if this career choice will be a wise one. Good luck on your last yr of school!
  6. Thanks! I've already filled out a FAFSA, just waiting to hear back. I was hoping to get a grant or some other form of free money so I wouldnt have to owe so much when I'm finished with school. :-) Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask! How much long do you have left for school and is it everything that you expected?
  7. Hi! I'm a newly license esthetician who would like to become an RN. I also have a Business Degree so there are about 6 pre reqs that I will have to take before getting into the nursing program. Since I already have a BA, financial aid is out of the question. Are there any grants or other types of financial assistance that will keep me from having to take out another student loan? even if I can lessen the amount I have to take out would be great! ANY tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :-)
