I wanted to say thanks for replying. Great advice. I'm a full-time DCCCD student. All 3 programs are day programs, and I have a baby that I can not afford to put in daycare. I used be enrolled in CI, like Kiya, but that program is a little far for me. DNI, has a new part-time wknd and evening.:monkeydance: I just thought this little monkey was to cute!

I was just wondering what all you had to do, and pay for before you were able to start classes @ DNI (NTPI)?

Personally, I think that we should consider someone morals in the workplace as it pertains to the way they are doing the job they were hired to do, at that location. Unless she was selling patients lap dances, she is ok w/ me. If this young lady can do the job that she spent her time and money to do, during the hours she is scheduled to do it, I don't think it matters what she does. Shiftlvn07, it does kinda seem like you have some personal problems, and maybe even a little resentment because of your financial problems. I respect your views, no matter how old fashion, but I would hope you are not as rigid when comes to treating patients w/ various lifestyles you might not approve of. I know they touch on that in nursing school.

Oh, I missed a post. I do not mind having to read my text and meet deadlines. I do mind having a lazy instructor who will not take the time to put together a detailed print lecture. It is really bad when the books put you to sleep.

I do not have a problem with schools that do not offer lectures. I have a problem with schools that say that they offer a lecture and they don't. Schoold where the instructor is a supervisor and not an instructor. For 150.00 per credit hour.

Hello to all. For those of us who have taken Internet courses, I am noticing a trend. It seems that online schools are opening everywhere. The problem is that so many are not prepared to. I am currently attending an online school and they say that they have a lecture, but they really don't. My lecture is a peice of paper that tells me to read a chapter. I am switching to CCConline because it looks like they actually give you a lecture. (print of course) I am talking about be able to get a good lecture in print. It seems that they have schools are hiring people to supervise. They are hiring warm bodies that do not have to do anything. I would interested people to post info about the online schools that you have attended. (CCConline) (Rio Salado) ETC. Please post info if you have been to more than one school.

So glad to see that so many people have been to Rio. I like my classes, but so far I am not a fan of their new rio learn system, Most of my classes are on the old system. I might drop the course on the new system.

Is anybody taking Rio Salado courses this semester? If so post back and tell what you think about it. Maybe some of us are in the same class.

I think Delmar is only for Texas residents. "Do not print that or I will sue" :-) They are re-doing thier program. I am not sure if it will then include students from other locations. You can go to google.com and type in "Delmar Eline" . You can then get info on the program and also get a contact number.

To be honest with you all in Texas there are jobs for CNAs that pay more than 14.00 and hour. I think it may depend on where you live. Texas has LVN,, RN , BSN, NP, ETC. I do not think the argument should be how much someone who went through this programs makes. I think it should the quality of education that they have. As I stated before If you are an LVN who makes 14.00 and hour and you are upset because someone with less training like a CNA makes more than you, you are not working at the right company or State even. I know that some LVNs start off around 12.00 here. Which is clearly less then a CNA making 15.00 and hour here. There are also LVN that make well over 25.00 and hour here and CNAs that make 6.00 and hour. Again, it depends on where you work. I don't feel that a LVN who makes 12.00 should be mad at a CNA who makes 15.00. She should just do her homework. :chuckle by the way ...no I am not a cna

The thing about is, the recruiter called his recruiter and told him about me. His supervisor chewed him out and then called me to apologize. I am not sure why he sent that information to his supervisor, but he made the supervisor mad.

Thank you for your reply. I did check with 3 nursing boards. TX OK NY. texas will not allow a Military medic to challenge the LVN. OK & NY will. OK as long as you have 4n051 status and New York as ling as you have completed an approved medical military training prgram. At least 9 months long. My thing was I did not feel right trying to challenge the board. I wanted to make sure that I had the education.

I have that heard that many times. I am going Air Force :-)

Thank you for your reply. I received a message from the recruiters supervisor today. It seems that my recruiter forwarded him my reply email. He called and said that he was sorrry. I am still interested.

Also if you notice. I was not backing out of anything. I get 11,000 dollars when I sign a military contract and I have until May 1st to do?

I can understand that. I also undestand all the work that goes into getting things ready for a recruit. I have and had every intention of going into the military. And like I told my recruiter, I will go into the military. It is a fact. I like the advantage that it gives. The whole reason that I was moved up on the waiting list for LVN school is because of the military. Also, I did not watch some commercial yesterday and said " Hey, I want to join the military". I know how serious it is. I have been thinking about this for years. I know there are programs that let you go to school before reporting to basic training. There are a variety of different programs. If you do not call a recruiter you will not know about them. Example: The college first program and that is only one. I am not going into anything without doing research. I have every intention of getting my BSN, however the MGI BIll would help alot. I also have a cosiderable amount of money saved for my education. There are a variety of distance learning programs that I have already researched. Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I am going to LVN school, but I am also going to take some courses toward my RN degree. Thank you for your reply.

Has anyone used these programs? Does anyone know how much Dr. Frye Costs? What all do you get with Dr. Frye? Anyone Uses Excel Advantage?
