  1. My instructor told us that if you get a level 2 or higher on all of the exams ATI all but guarantees that you will pass NCLEX on the first try. I would think that ATI would have their own pre-set percentages for levels then, but who knows. If you look on their website though, I've heard from a friend that it does state that their Nclex pass rate for those who achieved those levels is 99% or something...
  2. Just wondering because I just finished my first semester and realize that I have not used any of my study workbooks or nclex prep or ati books or anything like that. I was wondering going through them, how helpful have they been to you who use them? Also, when you all use them do you highlight the answers in the book or just look them up after you guess?
  3. OK everyone, so here is my question. I am actually a bsn student who plans on getting my grad degree for midwifery. When I take my statistics class next semester, should I plan to rent the book or keep it? I am trying to imagine weather I will need to refer to this book in my career as a midwife. Will I ever be required to develop statistics or anything like that which can make it useful for me to keep this book or will it just be a waste of money and space?
  4. I'm talking about only reading for nursing classes, not nursing prereq's or any other classes, just nursing theory and such.
  5. I am 26 with 2 kids. I think most of the ladies at the college I go to, including most of the nursing students, have kids, but I go to a non-traditional school. Just shows you though that its never too late to make a change.
  6. I want to do everything to maximize my chances of getting hired in L&D. I am still a student and realize that it is hard to get a job there as a new graduate, but I want to eventually get a masters for nurse-midwifery, and many schools ask for one year labor and delivery before they will admit you. What else can I do to maximize my chances?
  7. I'm just finishing that class now. I can't imagine taking it in 6 weeks. You'll be fine if you live and breathe it, just be prepared to work hard. Good luck to everyone taking it!
  8. I am a pre-nursing student with the long-time goal of becoming a midwife. Since I love homebirth and believe that it is ultimately best for many women/families, I would like to know if anyone knows where to find a list of states where homebirth by nurse-midwives is legal. Anyone?
